Matt finish shows all Fingerprints/splashes/spills WendyWhen installed, the finish of these Blue Matt cabinets were beautiful, HOWEVER as soon as you start living with them, the finish shows finger marks and any type of spills/splashes . They are hard to keep looking good. Overall disappointing. I would not buy again.

Too heavy for their purposeLaurieWe ended up returning our panels because they were unnecessarily thick and heavy. We used the Sektion base cabinets to build a free-standing kitchen island, and we needed panels to cover the sides and back. We discovered there was no way to attach them to the back of the cabinet because they were too heavy, so instead we bought 3/8" plywood to cover the back and sides. We were able to get paint to match the drawer fronts exactly, so we're very happy with the final product. There is no need for the side panels to be so thick -- they're only decorative!

A Beautiful KitchenBevWe did our kitchen in the blue Axstad doors & drawers. It looks stunning. Ikea cabinets are such a great option. Easy to put together & install. The only downside of the blue (really it’s not) is that marks show on the dark doors around the handles. Those marks are on lighter doors, they just don’t show as much. At least I know they are clean & really don’t mind wiping off the marks.

What is particleboard?
Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
