No-nonsense returns policy

365 days to change your mind

Too big? Too small? Too something else? If you’re not completely satisfied, or simply just change your mind, you can return your products within 365 days. You can return any product, even if you assembled it, as long as it’s in unused and in re-saleable condition. Please provide proof of purchase and, if possible, the packaging. If your merchandise is found to be dirty, stained, damaged or abused, IKEA may refuse to refund or exchange your items, or offer a refund card only.

We will refund you by the same method as your original payment. Government photo ID may be required.

Terms & Conditions

IKEA Canada has temporarily closed its Ontario and Halifax store locations to customers to support the immediate public health concern.

As a result, returns or exchanges cannot be performed at this time at these stores. We will take our closing period into consideration for receipts that have expired during this time and will honour our 365 days returns or exchange policy.

For stores that remain open, please consult your store page to obtain the most updated opening hours and general store information.

It's important to us that you're happy with your IKEA purchase. If you're not completely satisfied you can return it within 365 days.

We will give you a full refund by the same method as your original payment for products that are returned with proof of purchase in new and unused condition and, if possible, the packaging.

Assembled products may be returned provided your merchandise is not found to be dirty, stained, damaged or abused.

We may refuse the return or offer an exchange or refund card only if the returns criteria are not fully met.

We do not offer products for rent or for temporary use. IKEA reserves the right to refuse returns or offer an exchange or refund card only to anyone where IKEA, in its sole discretion, suspects abuse of its return policy. Please note that we inspect the item(s) and if a product has been used or handled in a way which has diminished its value, we may also reduce the value of the refund to reflect the reduction in the value of the merchandise.

Additional or different terms and conditions may apply in relation to the returns of products that are being recalled by IKEA for quality and/or safety reasons.

Love it or exchange it terms and conditions

Please note that initially, your new mattress can seem a bit too firm. Allow at least one month for your body to get used to the mattress and for the mattress to get used to your body.

To get the best comfort you also need the right pillow that supports the way you naturally sleep. Make sure you have a pillow that suits you and your new mattress. For additional comfort, and to prolong the life of your IKEA mattress, we also recommend you consider adding a mattress topper.

You may exchange your mattress once within 365 days if you don’t love it, provided that it is not dirty, damaged or abused. Simply take your mattress back to the IKEA store together with your proof of purchase and we will help you find one that suits you better.

If you would like to upgrade your mattress, all we ask is that you pay the difference between the original purchase price and the price of the replacement chosen. If the replacement mattress is lower in price, we will credit the difference to an IKEA refund card for you to use towards a future purchase.

The “Love it or Exchange it” policy does not apply to sofa-bed mattresses.
