IKEA warranties

We’ve created a comprehensive IKEA warranty for many of our products and have gathered them all here. Because, while we believe in the quality and durability of our products, at IKEA we like to have your back.

When IKEA warranties apply 

Our warranties can change over time and are always determined by the date of order or purchase. The terms and conditions of the warranty start from the day you receive your product – whether you take it home yourself, or it’s delivered to you – so always keep a record of your purchase and order. ​​,

IKEA kitchen warranty 

We offer you a 25-year warranty that covers defects in the material and workmanship on the SEKTION kitchen system along with a 10-year warranty on the ENHET kitchen system.

​​All kitchen faucets from IKEA have a 10-year warranty, while all IKEA appliances have a 5-year warranty. The exceptions are LAGAN and TILLREDA, which have a 2-year warranty.

​​These warranties only apply to domestic kitchen use and are subject to terms and conditions. ​

IKEA bathroom warranty 

The 10-year IKEA bathroom warranty covers defects in material and workmanship on the GODMORGON and ENHET bathroom series. It also covers our sinks, faucets, and shower faucets.

Select shower heads, hand showers, rails, shower shelves, shower hoses, and hand shower mounting brackets have a 3-year warranty.

IKEA bedroom warranty

We’re known for our IKEA 10-year mattress warranty (and our free IKEA 365-day mattress exchange), which covers mattresses and bed bases marked with our logo, against defects in materials and workmanship. ​  

We also offer a 10-year warranty on PAX wardrobes and KOMPLEMENT interior organizers marked with our logo, against defects in materials and workmanship. ​ 

IKEA sofa and armchairs warranty

Our sofas are rigorously tested to comply with our strict standards for quality and durability as well as with the highest standards for domestic use. This means that we can offer you a 10-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship that covers frames and cushions of our sofas. For our IKEA STOCKHOLM sofa, this involves a 25-year warranty.

IKEA workspace warranties and IKEA office furniture warranties

We offer you a 10-year warranty against defects in materials, workmanship and function on all main parts in the BEKANT series, IDÅSEN series, GALANT storage system, RODULF desk, TOMMARYD table, TROTTEN series,  and HÄLLAN cabinets.

We also provide a 10-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship in the moving parts and frame of the following IKEA office chairs:  MULLFJÄLLET, MARKUS, LÅNGFJÄLL, HATTEFJÄLL, ALEFJÄLL, JÄRVFJÄLLET, TROLLBERGET, LIDKULLEN, FLINTAN, and FJÄLLBERGET.

The warranty on some of these IKEA office essentials also applies to use in commercial settings. Check the terms and conditions that apply to the products and categories in this section.​

  • What is warrantied?

    The extent of the warranty given for each product is described alongside each product.Duration of warrantyEach warranty lasts for the number of years stated against each product starting from the date of purchase.What will IKEA do to correct the problem?IKEA will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion, if it is covered under this warranty. If considered covered, IKEA through its own service operations, will then, at its sole discretion, replace it with the same or a comparable product. If the item is no longer sold by IKEA, IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement. It is IKEA that determines, at its sole discretion, what constitutes an appropriate replacement.

    Conditions for the warranties

    The warranties are valid from the date of purchase at IKEA or date of delivery if later. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase.ExclusionsThis warranty does not cover custom-made countertops, normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents. Follow our assembly instructions and care instructions carefully. This warranty does not apply to products that have been stored, assembled or installed incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products. This warranty does not apply if the products have been used for public use, outdoors or in a corrosive environment. It also does not cover accidental damage.

    To be able to rely on this warranty you need to follow the specific care instructions at the IKEA stores and on the IKEA website.

    General legal rights

    This warranty gives you specific legal rights. It does not, in any way, affect the rights given to you by law. Items excluded from the IKEA free extended warranties will still be covered by the rights given to you by law.

    How to reach us if you need service

    If you need service for TILLREDA appliances, contact your local IKEA store or customer service. You will find the address and phone number at IKEA.ca/CustomerService. For all other appliances, please contact our service provider in Canada at 1-866-664-2449. Please have the IKEA article number (found on the receipt) and model/serial number (found on the rating plate of the appliance) on hand before calling. Helpful information can also be found in the "troubleshooting" section of the use and care guide for each appliance. If outside Canada, contact your authorized IKEA retailer to determine if another warranty applies.

  • Product-specific details of what is not covered can be found inside each warranty guide.

    The IKEA warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts, accidents or waterborne debris. It also does not apply to the filter/aerator which should be cleaned regularly or replaced when worn out.

    The IKEA warranty does not apply to products that have been stored, assembled or installed incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products.

    The IKEA warranty does not apply if the products have been used for public use, outdoors or in a corrosive environment. 

    The warranty does not cover consequential or incidental damages.

  • IKEA warranties are for personal use only, with exceptions being the work chairs warranty and desk, tables, and storage warranty. These specific products have been tested for office use.
