Product details

You can choose to use either the soft-closing or push-open function. The push-opener lets you open the doors with just a light push, while the soft-closing hinges makes sure they close silently and softly.

It’s easy to keep the cords from your TV and other devices out of sight but close at hand, as there are several cord outlets at the back of the TV bench.

The cable outlet at the top lets cords run down smoothly into the TV bench.

The legs raise your BESTÅ combination from the floor, giving it a light airy look and making it easy to clean the floor underneath.

Different wall materials require different types of fasteners. Use fasteners suitable for the walls in your home.

Interior accessories that help you organize inside your BESTÅ are sold separately.

SophydI was a lucky one that it didn’t come with instructions inside I was very upset it was a gift for my parents .And on line they didn’t provide it so we had to just figure it out ..... Thanks ikea1
Doors don"t fitRenea1We've had this cabinet for almost a year. From day one the doors have not fit. They hang crooked and overlap at the center where they meet. It is terribly frustrating. I'm considering cutting off the ends of the doors just to make them fit, but I feel that shouldn't be required in order to utilize the furniture properly.1
Nice, no-frills lookSteveVOkay, it’s IKEA so it’s going to take you a while to assemble. Deal with it. You know that from the get go, so let’s move on. I like the design in the back where I can gather the wires and direct them from the top to the bottom. It’s hard to describe but it’s a nice feature. We also like the hidden storage. One side currently holds a power strip and the tangle of wires that’s normally collecting dust between the cabinet and wall. For us, it’s an ideal height for TV viewing, too. All in all, we’re happy with this purchase.5
Door hingesKcMakI bought this item and put it all together today, like everyone said the door hinges on this unit suck, they won’t screw in all the way so it’s lose and Wobly and won’t close properly, ikea needs to look at these reviews as to all of them has the same complains so they can improve the quality of their product.1
It has all the features I wantMCM73The basic structure is easy to assemble although a power screw driver really helped. However, the doors are another matter. There are pre-drilled holes so there is no problem with placing the hinges, but the doors are too heavy for the hinges. The doors sag and do not hang properly. If we prop them against each other we can make the doors look like they hang properly but they do not. Instructions for the hinges were poor and the ‘door stop’ for each door made the problem worse. I would recommend without the doors - save yourself money and frustration! IKEA customer service does not answer the phone!3
Fit Like a GloveImChiquitaPurchased this for Second Son. He put it together, and it fit his space AND the needs for which it was purchased. He likes it very much (as I knew he would). Holds his personal collection of Bluray, games, and gaming systems.5
Good ValuerlflI bought this for someone with a small apartment. With the storage on the bottom, it keeps everything neat and tidy.5
Doors are crooked no matter whatJessJBDespite following the directions perfectly, we cannot get the doors assembled on the unit without them being crooked and janky. One looks fine, the other is on the same exact hole pattern and is not level in the slightest. It looks goofy. We will use the cabinet without the doors, I guess. Otherwise, it's fine. Your standard media cabinet.3
solidJoe Ceasy to assemble, good cable management, and easy to keep clean4
Perfect for our living room!shaylanrWe have loved this in our living room. It holds all our gaming things and I love that there are doors to hide messier things. We keep our throw blankets on one side and our internet modem on the other side.5
Looks good but....Eddie91Looks good and everything BUT its wobbly. I have to do my own repair work to make it more sturdy. And I KNOW it wasn't an error on my part because I know exactly where the wobble is coming from and made sure everything was accurate and tight. I shook the display one in the store back and forth and the one in the store was VERY sturdy, this one is not. Not cool, Ikea, not cool.2

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light and resource-efficient, yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
