Easy to assemble since the fabric is divided into sections and the edge bands are elastic.

If you want to make the bed even more comfortable and personal, you can complete with MÖJLIGHET pillow and bed pocket – they are dimensioned for the VITVAL series.

The construction is light but steady, and has soft shapes.

You can also use the lower bed as a sofa since the side panel is high and can be used as a backrest.

Great bunk BedELIZABETHWe bought this bed for our three granddaughters when they want to have a sleep over. I like that the top bunk isn't as high as some bunk beds we looked at. Just make sure you check the height of the mattress, if you don't buy the ones from IKEA. Most US mattresses are too tall for the top bunk.4
Great BuyBlairThis product was tremendously sturdy once completely assembled. Assembly did take time but was worth the effort. Would highly promote this bunk bed as exceptional5
Perfect for the grandkids!DOROTHYPerfect for the grandkids!5
Yes it works, butalexeykNot much space on lower bed, few plastic caps just disappeared and there is no replacement. Now I'm trying to move it to the another room and I can't disassemble it - bolts are super bad quality and I just can't unscrew them. Already spent bunch of money on screws removal tools.1
Dont buy trundle.BignewskemaI like this bunk bed its different and unique. Warning **** Do not buy the trundle ! Even if the person is not heavy the wooden slats feel like they are going to break with just a little pressure. I ordered the mattresses from a different company because they were sold out here. They were a little bigger than the ones in the picture. They fit. But not on the trundle. I already had a thin mattress so i put it on and omg. I was like this is going to break. so i slid it under and use the third mattress purchased and slept on the floor. Why didntvi just use the purchased mattress on trundle? Because it kept sliding away from the bed.3
Love the bed. Don't love the trundleShelly wfI love this bunk bed. It was a bit of a challenge to put it together. But once it is together I have no complaints on the bed. My biggest complaint is the trundle slats fall out every time you pull out the trundle bed. And they are not very easy to put back in with the mattress on.4
Best beds we ever purchasedMaddie 25We love them. They don’t take too much room.5
Nice itemBonyPanjaitanGood items also easy to install4
mariawilliardMy grandkids are having fun deciding which bed they want to sleep on. We love the extra bed that tucks under. Easy to follow directions for putting it together. The unit is very sturdy another plus!5
VITVAL Bunk bed frame with underbed, white/light gray, Twin

More relaxing, less materials

Where do your children spend most of their waking hours at home? Quite likely the answer is in their bed. Because when life for slightly older children today often revolves around phones, tablets and friends, a lot more space than that “hub” isn’t really needed. With VITVAL loft bed and bunk bed, we wanted to make comfortable and cozy beds for all children who prefer hanging out there. But the goal was also to considerably reduce the amount of materials to save on nature's resources.

Metal is a durable and stable material and really suited VITVAL bed frames. The question was just how much we could reduce the amount of the metal used without decreasing stability and safety. Product developer Anna Carme and her colleagues performed detailed calculations and safety tests. "We came a long way", says Anna. "But it was not enough ― we thought the bed frames were still too heavy."

30% less metal

Experimenting with materials led to the team replacing the bed's edges with fabric. This meant that they managed to reduce the amount of metal by almost one third compared to similar beds. "We found a strong polyester material that also gives the bed a nice and cozy feel ― both when the children hang out there with friends and when it’s time to sleep."

Easy to assemble

"The fabric is mounted on the frame", explains Anna. "And to ensure that the assembly is simple for all parents, we invited a number of people to test it out." The tests then led to the team dividing the fabric into sections and making the yellow edge bands more flexible so that they are easier to pull on. "I love playing detective, to look for and investigate what we have for different alternatives", says Anna. "Nothing beats the feeling when you finally find a good solution."

What is steel?

Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.

Form design process

More relaxing, less materials

The idea with VITVAL loft bed and bunk bed was to make comfortable and cozy beds for all children who like hanging out with their phones, tablets and friends. But we also wanted to save on nature’s resources and limit the amount of metal in the beds. So how do you achieve two so different goals at the same time? Our solution was to make the bed edges out of a strong polyester fabric that gave the bed a nice and cozy feel ― and we thereby reduced the metal by 30% in each bed.
