Please fix the instructions or make a videoMerriannThe unit itself is nice, and a good value for the price in today’s economy. My complaint is around the lack of clarity around the holes for the support brace. I watched several YouTube videos but couldn’t find a good professional one for this product. One of V then did mention the identical poles and extra holes for the brace. I was very careful and sure I placed them properly, triple checking my work as I went. I still ended up on step 14 with the pole on the wrong side of the side rails. There was no way I was taking the entire unit apart after getting to step 14. They should have you put the first triangle shaped support on in step 4 so that you can see how they need to line up. That way at the very least you have support on one side of it’s doesn’t prevent an issue on the other side too. Sadly this form doesn’t provide enough characters to explain how to remedy this and the other issues with the assembly. There is a better way to do it. 2
Missing partsShannonOne I paid for 4 pieces to be put together and the person that showed took 5 hours to put only one of the items together. Complete waste of money. Next when my son finally had the time to put this together it’s missing a glass shelf and one of the brackets 3
Great Shelf, Instructions and Piece Prep Need WorkDhyanaThe shelf is beautiful and sturdy. Unfortunately, the instructions were lacking in one section, so we had to take it apart and reassemble (there is a part that needs to have one pole aligned with the backside and not the front specifically, and it wasn’t specified to be sure to put one of the pieces on the back side so that you can attach the triangle brace later). Otherwise the instructions were fairly simple to read.
Also, the wood planks don’t have pre-made pinholes so you can screw the wood planks in. The instructions say you need to make them yourself. This was pretty annoying to me, because I didn’t have a tool for doing that around. A screwdriver is accessible, while a pinhole maker, I think, is not as universally owned by the average person.4
In LoveFredoniaThis is the first shelving unit I've ever acquired and it does all I thought it would added lights plants and now I want another one5
excellent open shelving for plantsSeanthis is the sixth version of a Vittsjo and all have been easy to assemble and look great at a window with plants.5
Perfect for plantsAlexahI purchased this for a plant stand, attached some grow lights and it is the perfect size! Also built it fairly easily by myself, and had no problems with any broken parts even with transporting the box while moving. 5
It shattered out of no whereJessicaI loved it until one day it just shattered. The middle shelf was the only one that did this and nothing heavy was on it. Luckily I was awake, or it would've scared me out my slip. It sounded like glass exploding everywhere. It took hours to clean. I will never by another glass product from Ikea again.1
Love this so much!MelanieMy sister and I put this piece together with no problem. You definitely need a second hand to help. It is sturdy and looks fantastic in the spot I chose. It was exactly what I was looking for. 5
beautifulRuthThis shelfing unit is so stylish and beautiful. Easy to assemble. Love it!5
Lasted over 10 yearsHillaryI bought this shelving unit over a decade ago - I think probably in 2013. It has moved with me at least 6 times. I think it is timeless and beautiful. I've used it for books and nicknacks, I've put bins in it and used it to store clothing, and I currently am using it in my kitchen to hold a microwave, pots, pans, and tons of other cooking equipment. I will say it takes patience to put together/take down, but I really love that it can come apart for ease of transport; I'm willing to put the time in to (dis)assemble as needed. So sturdy! Love it!5
Almost.ish RightLaurenPurchased based on the measurements.
Specifically the width noted in all of the product info: 39 3/8
My space is 39 1/4 and we were hoping to achieve a snug, built-in look.
The width is at least 39 1/2 will all components securely fastened per instructions. Obv w the metal frame there is no wiggle room.
Disappointed bc we were thinking we found the perfect fit.
Overall sturdiness: Fair-Good; We stacked *a lot* of books and would recommend being a little more conservative with weight capacity as well.
Will keep til we find something better.3

nice shelveDonnaI like it a lot. I styled the shelves with things I love and wanted to display.4
Really nice basic shelvingTaylorEasy to put together, light enough to move around, sturdy enough for decor or storage items! 5
5'9" of flood waters was no match!Anonymous reviewerI purchased two of these to use at my booth in a vintage mall. Assembly was easy enough by myself, and I got several compliments on the shelves. After about 6 months of use, Hurricane Helene hit and devastated my area (WNC). The vintage mall building flooded with 5'9" of raging flood waters and mud, and the building had to be condemned. I was able to go inside before the building was demolished and, lo and behold, there were my two shelves, fully intact and still standing (screwed to wall). Even the glass was intact! There was too much mud and debris in the area for me to realistically get them out, so I had to leave them, but I'll be back very soon to buy more for my next business endeavor!5
nice durable shelfCynthiai been looking for a shelf to display all my lego cars and i seen someone post this one and felt absolutely in love it was exactly what i wanted and was exactly what i expected. i had one issue of a part coming dented but was sent a replacement quick so customer service was also 10/10 as well as the product itself. 5

White shelf unitMarilenaEasy to put together, chic and looked amazing in my environment.5
Terrible, even for IKEA furnitureAlexBought this because I was sick of Billy shelves. Holy cow, what a garbage product. No matter what I do it WILL NOT stabilize. It's so wiggly and there's no way to fix it, plus the faux wooden shelves aren't predrilled so you WILL have to buy a drill with a specialized bit just to add more screws that result in literally zero stability.1
