Comfortable and great valueEstelleI have the mattress on a slat base, it's very comfortable. Love waking up without back pain.5
Not for couples! Beware of the sunken place JazzminMy boyfriend and I hate this mattress. We have had it maybe 5 months now. We call it the sunken place when we sink to the middle of it. It is not made for couples at all. You will always fall to the center of it. There is zero support. And it’s not a weight thing either because when my kiddo is in bed with me we fall into the center of it too. I’m extremely disappointed for how much I paid for this. I get that there is a 10 year warranty but truly the hassle of that itself on figuring out how to haul this mattress back to the store, is even worse than falling into the sunken place. I’m really sad because I have an ikea credit card but no longer feel confident in purchasing ikea furniture. I only buy decorations and plants. The quality in everything has gone downhill despite the rising prices. Beware this mattress at all costs. Do not purchase, it will ruin your relationship and your sleep!1

To soft / sinking inNadxchielliMy husband and I have purchased a mattress here before which lasted us years and upon researching this would’ve been the closest to what we loved. Unfortunately, our first night sleep on this bed was uncomfortable as we sunk into the middle of the bed. 1
It’s giving us back pain, too soft. LydiahMy husband and I never had back pains before we bought this mattress a month ago.
Worst mattress in our 16 yrs marriage.
It’s too soft and we are sinking in the middle!1
Firm and Hard, gave it a chance after 2 yrsBreanaI have chronic back pain and listen to my husband and bought this in firm since it has “plush” topping. We have had it for two years and I was trying to get my money worth, but today I said no more. Will be tossing it and getting rid of it. I wake up with painful back pain shoulder and upper back/hip pain. I am a side sleeper, 32yr old and weigh about 135 and it’s painful for my joints to sleep on this bed. If u are a side sleeper or back sleeper I don’t suggest this mattress as it is not soft at all. Feels like a rock every morning for the past two years. 2
Did not match plush and firmness of showroomThuyUnfortunately, this plush pillow top was too soft and like a bean bag. It did not match the plush and firmness of the showroom’s. It sagged and created a sinkhole when sleeping.1
WAY TOO SOFT. KimberlyWould not recommend it for couples. You feel trapped in the center of the mattress.2
No complaintsAriaSeems more comfortable than a previous (cheaper) ikea mattress I owned.5
WAY TOO SOFT (King Size Review)MartinI was hoping this mattress would be slightly softer than my last one, but on a scale of 1-10 in terms of firmness, I’d rate it a mere 1. I was expecting a 5 or higher, considering it’s still a spring mattress with a thick topper. I weigh just over 200 pounds, and it’s not comfortable to sit up in. After 30 days, I can’t recommend this mattress to anyone with shoulder or back pain. In my opinion, it’s better suited for children or petite individuals (under 120 pounds). I believe most people will find it comfortable for a few nights before realizing the same issue I’ve encountered. I’m likely to switch to a firmer Vagstranda, which may sound like an extreme opposite, but I’ve had experience with it, and it’s more like a 7/10 in firmness, becoming softer over time.
I’m currently researching how to exchange this mattress and have IKEA pick up the old one and deliver a new one.1
Mattress is only 10” and feels like a $200 mattressHeidiProbably the worst mattress I’ve ever had. You can feel the springs. It’s like the euro top never inflated, as it comes in a box, which I didn’t know it would. 1
Horrible ServiceSamerI bought this, traveled for a few months, then returned to find an irregular bumpy mattress, clearly a flaw in the design. The manual said that it required around 3 days to expand to its full size.
Ikea has only a 3 month return policy, and this could be a defective mattress (or is that the default?). Worst home purchase I ever made!1
King bedOliviaBought this bed for my daughter & she loves this bed! Soft & cozy, she loves to lounge around on the weekends. 5
Great nights sleep at a great price. LisaVery happy with this mattress. From delivery and setup to a good nights sleep. It has me covered. So happy I didn’t drop a lot of money on something else. This is comparable to much costlier mattresses I looked at. 5
Perfect for husband with a bad backAnonymous reviewerWe've had this mattress for a few months. It's so much better than our last one for my husband's back and shoulders. He's sleeping better.
It's soft on the edges, which took getting used to. It springs back into shape right away.5
The plushiest & bounciest mattress that Ikea sellsAnonymous reviewerFor me, the choice was between the Vingelen, Vagstranda, and Anneland. The plush Anneland felt like a concrete brick. It wasn't very plush. The Vagstranda felt much, much better and I was almost set on it until I tried the Vingelen. The Vingelen has been great! They are both exactly the same as far as bounciness goes, but where the Vingelen outshines is it's two layers consisting of memory foam and high resilience foam, compared to the one layer of standard foam on the Vagstranda. Both foams on the Vingelen are also a higher density, so they should hopefully last for longer. This mattress is definitely heavy, but that's because of the heavier gauge edge-to-edge coils, which the previous model (Hesstun) did not have - It had a foam bucket. I think the price for the Vingelen is very fair, compared to other mattresses in this price range, and would recommend it!5
Go back now before it’s too late!JenniferI was pretty disappointed in the quality of this overpriced and very heavy mattress. The material at the top of the mattress isn’t very securely in place and after one night of sleeping on it it’s all bunched up on top and since I opened the package and slept on it the best I can get is store credit. Very sad 😢 1
