Great couchIc3walkerIt is great for storing blankets so they aren't all over the house.5
Firm and with a great underneath storageMichaelRGThe cushion is firm and comfortable and I hope it will remain like this in the time. The storage is capacious and with simple access. The problem with it it's the cushion's cover. Despite I used canvas pliers, reaching the velcro it's barely impossible. Basically, I destroyed my fingers doing it.4
Not for moderate useBack disasterThe idea of the extra storage and how modular it was drew me in. I purchased two 13 months ago. These are not comfortable with regular use. Very regretful of the purchase.1
Very comfortable and great storage!ChicagoCatLoverWe bought several of these so we could have a truly modular sofa for our tiny, awkwardly sized living room. They are *very* comfortable to sit on, even for long periods of time (movie binging), and the storage underneath is great for storing extra slip covers, blankets, pillows, laptops, you name it. The slip covers are pretty easy to put on/take off, and the back and arm rests also remove (and snap back on) easily, making it possible to reconfigure this sofa at whim into any shape you want. I honestly can't think of any reason to buy the version that doesn't have storage, given how convenient the storage is. There's no difference in support that we can tell, so if you're considering the Vallentuna line, I would suggest you buy the storage version. We didn't buy any of the sleeper versions, so can't comment on that. To sum up: if you're looking for a modular sofa, the Vallentuna line is one of the best available. We had already bought the West Elm Tillary line, but when Ikea created the Vallentuna series, we sold all the Tillary sections and bought Vallentuna to replace them, specifically so we could have the storage under the seat. We hope that Ikea never stops making the Vallentuna series, and makes it a staple (like their Ektorp line), because it's so wonderful to have the modularity, storage, and slip covers all in one sofa!5
