Smooth edges, parts fit together well, great colors for girls or boys, and Ikea uses safe stains & paints for relevant children's items. I bought one for a 1.5 year old niece for Christmas. She loved it so much, I bought 2 more for another niece and nephew, and I am looking at Ikea's wooden train sets. Great toys!
