My first bad Ikea reviewNicoleThis set was purchased to furnish a baby room. Much of my furniture is Ikea; we’re big fans and have no issues with assembly.
This set is very poorly engineered and manufactured. The frame build was fine, but when you get to the drawers, grooves and casings to hold the pins in place aren’t drilled deep enough to keep them flush so it just LOOKS sloppy. In addition, the wooden pegs break fairly easily, or sliver, which isn’t great for assembly; the drawers come apart very easily which also isn’t ideal for a baby’s room.
The price point being what it is, we rely on Ikea for reasonable pricing because of self assembly, but the price is hardly reasonable, or worth the augmentations we had to make to keep this thing looking up to standard for our usual Ikea fare. Not a great product and won’t purchase from this line again.
**added note—I had to hang up on your customer service. They were VERY rude, and argued with me over inaccurate product info I later confirmed at the store.2
love this dresser!Amandai needed a new dresser for my room. splurged a bit on this one as i loved the finish and detail. bought online and did pickup, what a wonderful and easy process. the additional help of them loading it into my car was fantastic. as an IKEA rookie (i’ve build 3 other IKEA furniture pieces) this bad boy took me about 6 hours to construct by myself. did it in one afternoon/evening; instructions were easy to follow. took about a half hour to set up and organize all the pieces, and after that it was smooth sailing.
i needed a dresser deeper than the average but didn’t have the space for anything over 55” long, and this one was the deepest i’ve found. with that comes incredible storage space in a relatively small footprint. the little details are really pretty, and i have had no issue with the drawers; they seem well constructed and i love the soft close feature. overall, a good purchase.5

Nice piece of furniture but hard to assembleVerified BuyerI'm an experienced Ikea furniture builder from many times moving and furnishing everything Ikea. This is probably the hardest thing I've ever built. There are lots of little wood and metal pieces in the three boxes, two sets of instructions, and two large packs of assembly pieces. It took me six hours of dedicated time to assemble this. You have really to pay attention to a lot of little details, as many of the pieces are or look similar but have to be put together in different ways and some of the assembly details are not intuitive or obvious at first. More of this could have been assembled at the factory with minimal additional packaging bulk and a lot less work and frustration from the end user. Also, be careful at the end with the wall attachment--it states to attach first to wall 4 cm above the furniture, but then the provided securing strap was too short to put into the provided hole in the dresser. My advice would be to attach it to the furniture first, then to the wall to save yourself frustration.4
