LOVE THIS!!!!!DAVIDIt makes turning my Sonos sound on as easy as one touch (without having to open up my phone, find the app and fumble through it to then get music). Easy to operate nice design (although it would be nicer if the resting plate were the same color as the remote is black but the resting plate is white).5
If you read the description, WORKS AS ADVERTISED!Average Consumer2Great little remote, obvious anyone that used any recent tech or can read knows you need the hub - but once set up, its very discreet and works just as promised! I need more speakers to add to my setup and its nice to get an almost SONOS product for Ikea prices.:) Dont pay attention to the reviews where people blame the product for their own lack of due diligence.5
Works well,PickleRick813Bought one of these about 3 weeks ago to use for a Sonos Beam + 2 Symfonisk rear speakers. It paired easily with my existing gateway and worked right away. Simple, easy to control volume levels. I plan on getting a few more to use throughout the house.4
Warning Do not purchase.Cat dogI purchase the Sonos speaker and the Kallax shelves for delivery. I went to Ikea to Sacramento when it reopened to purchase a few more things. I notice the remote for the speaker. I took it home to use it with the speaker. I check online again before using. Should have check the reviews first because of the low score it needs a gateway. I had to go back to Ikea which is 50 mins plus away from my house. I decided to purchase the gateway along with the light bulb kit. I already own Samsung Smarthings. It has work great and pairs directly with wifi. This item is a joke. First off it only works plugged into the route. Come on it 2020 can't it pair wireless like Samsung. Next it keeps cutting in and out always need to refresh before able to use. The route is in the garage it a hassle. I try to used the remote it doesn't even work. I should have done more research this speaker is only wifi enable which is limited like the HomePod. Now I have to make a third trip and return everything. Thank god for 1 year return I will wait for Emeryville to reopen much closer to my house.1
Handy gadgetBill2311Pleased with the product, but, two thing’s, first, you need to spend another $35 for the gateway so you have a $50 volume control. If you can get over that, getting it to work took a while to get things synchronized. I like much about IKEA, but product tech support is not their strong suit.3
Good design and works welljalstadtThis works nicely with Sonos. I have a Beam + two Symfonisk speakers and the volume control works fine once configured with Tradfri and Sonos. Sonos is great product but way overpriced. Overall very happy.4
Has potential but glitchy nowBigTexGreat concept but have had multiple issues with “run away” volume levels where the speakers just crank themselves full blast to the point I’ve had to scramble to unplug them. Bought four of them but plan to return them all - bummer. Also, set up was a total pain in the you know what - likely due to a dual band router which needed to have the 5ghz channel deactivated temporarily. C’mon Ikea, you guys can do better! Would rather wait another 6 months for something that works predictably with an intuitive set up process...2
