Stocksund blue sofamaria e.We love it!! We bought the blue one, very nice color. The size is perfect for our apartment, very comfortable. It was a little difficult to assemble, it took us about 2 hrs. Really good for the price.5
Stocksund plaid couchKrisBeautiful couch, love the way it looks in our house. Would have given it five stars if it was a little more comfortable4
DisappointedmarionLoved the chair and then bought sofa. Although we gave the cushions several days to “fluff” as recommended, two are much flatter and spoil the whole look. Contacting IKEA was useless, I was given the run around and basically told to live with it.3
Very happy with th sofa.SusanVery happy with th sofa. Elegant and comfortable. Have major back issues, getting a chair or sofa which provides support and comfort is a task. This is my fifth sofa in five years, finally success! Thank ypu IKEA5
I’m giving five stars inWandaI’m giving five stars in advance, I love it. It’s comfortable a bd strong, and pretty. I had another couch from IKEA for fourteen years. I still have two chairs, bought new covers.5
We love it!MackenzieWe bought this for our new house almost a month ago. We love how deep the seat is and the look. The slip cover doesn’t Velcro as seamlessly as I would like but other than that it is awesome.4
Gorgeous design, did not hold up wellJayeTWith only one adult using it, I did expect this to last longer. Instead, the middle of the cushions (i.e., the end of each closest to the center) is completely dented... and there's no way to rotate them like you'd flip a mattress.2
The Floor Model was great! The real thing...Emily VI bought this yesterday after my friend bought one several years ago. Her couch is comfy, shapely, and the back cushions are firm. It looks and feels exactly like the floor model. However, the one that I brought home is nothing like that. The back cushions are extremely floppy, and feel like they are missing half the stuffing. The bottom cushions just feel extremely hard, even after flipping and reflipping to see if they were side-specific. I know that since they are vacuum sealed they take some time to go back to their original shape; however, the couch is just an uncomfortable as when I assembled it. What’s the deal here? Did I just get a dud? Why does it look and feel nothing like the floor model? I’m really, really disappointed Ikea.2
Incredible Value!CroomscmWe have the Stocksund sofa, chaise, ottoman, and bench and couldn’t be more pleased with the quality and value this series provides. For one, we have multiple covers and they all wash beautifully and you can change the appearance of your whole living room changing the cover. Two, the quality is amazing - somebody mentioned that the cushions are limp, but I disagree. They are plenty filled and you can just hit them a bit ever so often and they are back to normal shape. Three, it comes with armrest covers - this alone is amazing because it protects the armrest and gives it a high-end appearance as well. The wooden legs are beautiful and the sofa holds up really well over time. We have 4 kids and 2 dogs and 4 years later, this sofa looks like new.5
Great CouchHossersgirlThis couch is in our bedroom and my husband and I love it. I'll even find my kids on it reading or playing on their electronics because they like it too. We got the bench too match later because it is a lower couch and our coffee table was too high in front of it. The couch is about 18 months old and still looks great. I have the plaid cover and it's gorgeous, looks expensive and did I mention this couch is super comfy?5
Still my favorite- after over 2 yearsBfamilyI bought this sofa in February 2016 and have been using it since then every day and I am still in love with it! I love the looks and very much the comfort. This sofa has survived so far my husband who is slouching in the worst possible way, my toddler son and my sheep dog. The washable covers are awesome. Every couple of months I switch the back cushions with each other and the sofa looks great! I agree that the back cushions could be firmer and/or could be separately purchased because I guess in a few years that might be a topic. But otherwise I would always, always buy this sofa again!5
Buyers BEWAREDisappointed DWe purchased this couch yesterday (STOCKSUND) for the kids play room. We stayed up late last night (while sick) to surprise the kids today. Literally within one hour of use the center frame SNAPPED! My 110lb nephew went to sit on it (like a normal person would) and SNAP! This is completely unacceptable on so many levels. I know IKEA's reputation for cheap furniture but this is just plain dangerous. Hopefully they will rectify this problem so no one gets seriously injured.1
Worst couchmr1090This is the worst Ikea couch I've ever purchased. I have been a loyal Ikea customer since 2006. Got this and it was really bad. Floor sample was firm, the back cushions are so flimsy I had to keep flipping every couple of days. And the seat cushions feel like there's spring in them. Been having back problems since. Gave it 6 months. I hate it so much I want to burn it. Its going back.1
Tough to assemble, looks worn out, even new.Sitting in SeattleThis was the nicest, most comfortable couch in the store and it was the perfect size and came in the perfect color. The frame of the couch was easy enough to assemble but the fabric was another deal altogether. Very difficult to stretch over the frame. Pillows too, very difficult to wrap the covers over. And just a few sits later it looked worn, worn, worn. We're not big sitters, either. Just light loungers. A friend came over a few days after we got it, said 'did you get a used couch?'. Ugh, no, we got a new $700+tax and shipping couch. Well, its a nice color, its comfortable, and about a month later it looks like a $70 couch.2
Love the sofa!kw456I bought this sofa about a year ago. It still looks great and is so comfortable. I generally have a hard time putting together furniture, but this was so easy. The hardest part was disposing of the boxes. I bought the velvety material because of my cats but it still looks great and I haven't needed to wash it yet. I bought some new legs which fit the front legs (but not the back legs but it isn't that noticeable) because I wanted a more modern look rather than the english sofa look. I think if Ikea gave an option for more modern legs more people would buy this sofa. I thought about getting a more expensive sofa, but because of my cats, I didn't and I am so glad I went this route.5
Amazing comfort and valueSusanSI admit it: I purchased this sofa only as a stop gap measure while I was waiting for a custom made leather sofa to be made. I had no expectations. In fact, I figured when the leather couch came I'd just put this on Craig's List and say goodbye. Not so fast! First of all, I put it together myself in under 30 minutes. It was really easy. Getting rid of the cardboard was the hardest part! This does not look like an inexpensive sofa. It does not FEEL like an inexpensive sofa. The seat cushions are wonderful and comfy. The back cushions seem a little flat at first, but once you sit for a bit, they're perfect! The gray and white floral fabric must be some sort of Sunbrella-like fabric, because everything comes right off. I've washed the cover, and it came out perfectly. Just remember to put it back on when it's a tiny bit damp. And best--my dog likes this sofa better than my expensive new leather sofa! Now he has his IKEA couch and I have my Chesterfield, and we're both delighted!5
Awesome sofaCooey05Amazing sofa, hope it's never discontinued. Super comfortable and looks great!!! Looks much more expensive than what it sells for. LOVE it!5
Love itNorthwoodsThis couch is very pretty and actually comfortable. It's deep enough to sit cross-legged. The back cushions are a little saggy, but I plan to fill them a little more. I read some comments about people not liking the look of the loose armrest covers, but those are completely optional. The arm underneath looks great without them. I got the grey-beige. I washed all the cushion covers and air dried. They didn't look a bit wrinkled once put back on the cushions. The new evergreen velvet pillow covers look amazing with this color.5
ibrahim3dEvery thing is excellent except that the back cushions don't look great. I don't know if they need to be filled more. I failed to make them look like the picture. They collapse the moment I set my back on them. I don't have this problem with the armchair of the same model.3
LumpyaszatI’ve had this couch for a couple of months and I have to say how disappointed I am with the quality. The cushions do not maintain shape. I constantly have to flip the back cushions in order to make it look less worn. It shouldn’t look like this. It’s a brand new couch, and now I’m stuck with a couch that looks awful.2

Our take on cotton

We use cotton in many of our products, from sofas and cushions to bed linen and mattresses. It is a soft, durable and renewable fiber that breathes and is good at absorbing moisture. All these great qualities make cotton one of our most important materials, but it isn’t without its challenges, much having to do with conventional farming methods that negatively impact the environment and poor working conditions for farmers. With our size and production volumes, we want to drive change in the cotton industry. By only using recycled cotton or cotton from more sustainable sources, working with partnerships and initiatives on the ground and prioritizing compliance, we believe that we can make a positive impact in the world of cotton.

100% cotton from more sustainable source

Since 2015, all cotton in IKEA products is either recycled or comes from more sustainable sources*. This means that we only source cotton grown using sustainable farming practices that reduce the use of fertilisers, pesticides and water, improve working conditions and earnings for farmers, and benefit ecosystem health and biodiversity conservation. We have set up a system that enables use to trace all our cotton and ensure that the final product is from approved, certified sources. *Cotton from more sustainable sources commits to the following schemes: Better Cotton (as defined by BCI, including their equivalence in various geographies), cotton from farmers working towards the BCI standard (TBC).

Working together to drive change

Each year, IKEA uses around 0.5 percent of all cotton grown around the world. This may not seem like a lot, but the number is big enough to drive change in the industry. For many years, we have been working with partners and stakeholders globally to transform conventional large-scale cotton farming and set social and environmental standards for cotton production. As an example, we helped set up the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) who runs the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. Today, more than 110,000 farmers have adopted more sustainable farming practices within IKEA projects.

Ensuring compliance throughout the value chain

All IKEA products are produced in accordance with the IKEA IWAY Standard, our Supplier Code of Conduct. It sets out the minimum environmental and social standards expected from our suppliers, including compliance with local laws. We do not accept any form of forced labor, child labor or treatments in breach of our supply chain requirements. Our cotton teams across the globe ensure that all cotton used in IKEA products meets the demands of compliance in our supply chain. By having teams on the ground in areas where it has previously been challenging to work responsibly, we can challenge the traditional ways of working and improve the industry. If we discover that we are acting in places where we cannot ensure our requirements are being met, we follow-up on the ground and drive change.

What is cotton?

Cotton is one of the world's most appreciated and used natural fibers. Textiles in cotton are soft, hardwearing and can be washed at high temperatures. They are also good at breathing and absorbing moisture – making them pleasant to wear close to the body. Today at IKEA we use more and more recycled cotton and strive to make sure that all the new cotton we use has been grown and produced with less and less amounts of pesticides, fertilizers and water.
