Tried in store - drawers open halfway making this not a functional or usable dresserMiaAs many people have reviewed, the drawers allow you to open them about halfway (about 8 inches).
This means if you try to reach to the back you may be like me and end up ramming your wrist and knuckles into the top of the drawer.
It was painful and I was already annoyed buy how little the drawers pulled out.
I'm glad to have tested it with their display rather than having spent the money and time assembling.
While I understand the intent to comply with legislation easily, I would rather sign a liability waiver and have a functional dresser!
It's really too bad because the design of this dresser is the perfect blend of modern and traditional, but it's not worth the headache.2

I thought I was imagining things or looking at a different productParrisI own the previous version of this dresser and I've been wanting an additional one but I thought I been discontinued because I couldn't find it in the store or online , the other day I was at ikea and happened upon them and the drawer just seemed different I couldn't explain it at the time, and I'm only here now because I wanted to compare and check measurements, because it just didn't seem the same , but yeah I guess they changed the hardware for the slides. Every dresser I've seen lately has been this way where they don't pull out completely, and it makes them seem cheap. I get the reasoning, but instead of restricting drawer access completely, upgrade the drawer slides so there catches that can be released to extend them out when necessary, but wouldn't automatically allow all the drawers to be pulled out at the same time to tip over.2

Days ago I bought it again and the drawers are smaller than the old one.
The new version of this product, in the back side, now is completely wood and that is perfect but in the top has a big space without protection and it is prone to any insect, regardless of its size, entering the drawer and damaging your clothes.

Drawers catchShelleyWe have two other Songesand dressers and they are great. This one I’m not impressed by. The drawers catch and don’t open and close smoothly. We had to order new rails for one drawer and it still doesn’t seem right. 2
Drawers only half-openAnnaExtremely disappointed in this product. We even bought 2 and every day I have to open them, I get angry (not even an exaggeration). We had them delivered without testing them out in store. Once they were assembled, the hassle of bringing them back to the store already assembled sounded way too daunting. How do I even get them there in my small car? So over it. I want to sell them but I would feel terrible even selling them to someone else. Also, they look terrible in person. I feel like I have office furniture in my primary bedroom. 1
Unusable drawers...YulyThe dresser is sturdy and looks great, but the drawers don't fully open and you lose a lot useful space in the back. If Ikea found a way for other dressers to not tip over without losing functionality, it really needs to do the same for this one.
You'll have to buy new drawer sliders and install them to make the drawers usable.1
Love it. Tweak the instructions…CarmenEasy to put together. I didn’t even need to ask for help from my husband. It’s beautiful. Hardest part for me was opening the box. LOL. My only recommendation is to update the paper instructions and online pdf to include the gaps from top/bottom side pieces. Common sense prevailed for me, so not a huge issue but others might not be logical. Other than that, I’m satisfied. Again, I love it. We bought 2.5
Still decentFranciaWe have an older Songesand dresser and it’s true that this new model’s drawers come out 2 inches less than the older model, which is annoying. The rest of the construction is still pretty solid for the price so we’re making it work. 4
