All sections in the SÖDERHAMN sofa series can be used freestanding or put together into exactly the sofa combination you want and need ‒ both big and small.You can sit in comfort with a slight, pleasant resilience thanks to the elastic weave in the bottom and high resilience foam in the seat cushions.SÖDERHAMN seating series allows you to sit deeply, low and softly with the loose back cushions for extra support.This cover is made from FINNSTA fabric in cotton and polyester, which is yarn-dyed. It has a clear, visible structure with a two-tone effect that gives a nice depth.The cover is easy to keep clean as it is removable and can be machine washed.10-year limited warrranty. Terrible quality fabricDjcqpdxThe modular design is exactly what we were looking for but the fabric is terrible. It pulls, snags and has faded a lot. It’s got this tasseled look about it now. We have this couch for 7 months and it looks 7 years old. I wish I had returned it.2
Great design - POOR fabricsectionalsearchingWhen we first brought home our sofa we loved it! It was the exact size and shape that we were looking for - however, after about a month we quickly learned how poor the fabric quality was. Cleaning the sofa is a challenge and it got a lot of pulls for no apparent reason. We've purchased other IKEA sofas and haven't had issues maintaining the fabric but we plan to return this sofa ASAP.2

Comfortable in a new way

With SÖDERHAMN we wanted to use materials efficiently and make a really comfortable sofa that also has a light, airy design. That's why we did things a little differently than usual and put elastic webbing in the bottom of the sofa. It works together with the seat cushions to give a soft, slightly springy feeling. To this we added a generous seat depth and loose back cushions, so you can always arrange your sofa so it's perfectly comfortable for you.

"The idea with SÖDERHAMN sofa is that you build your own combination by putting together the different sections to suit your home. One of the challenges in the design process was bringing in environmental thinking from the start and using materials efficiently. That's why we put elastic webbing in the bottom of the sofa which works together with the seat cushions to give a soft, slightly springy feel. And that's also what creates the light, airy style that I wanted to give the sofa."
