Cute bedElizabethThis bed is very cute, sturdy and affordable. My husband put it together in about 30 minutes (with lots of interruptions by our kids). I love all the storage room underneath for my sons bedding and off season clothes.5
Great bed frameArin25I bought this a month ago and my daughter is satisfied5
does this match the songesand?NicMI'm trying to purchase a matching dresser for kids room. Does songessand dresser in white match this white?3
Amazing!karianarComfortable, height is perfect, color is sleekly nice on the wood and it's simply easy to build. Love it!5
So soMo000I love the storage space under the bed which is why i got it. It was easy to put together but a few months in and i feel like the bed is already squeaky. Also, the width is kind of small, sometimes i feel like I'm going to fall off3
Good bedLuvartI bought this bed one week ago and I assembled today. My daughter (7+ years) just loved it and my son wants one! On IKEA show room the bed did not look high. I love the space under the bed and even I bought the storage box. Comparing her new bed with the one that my son has, a twin bed from IKEA, looks taller. Does IKEA has a bed barrier for this bed?4
Not a good kids bedpjackerI bought 2 of these beds to have more storage. They are ridiculously tall with a regular mattress. The slats do not stay in place like on the MALM bed and have collapsed twice just from an adult sitting on the edge. My child is 4 ft tall but has to run and jump to get on the bed with a standard size mattress. Finally, IKEA makes almost NO storage bins that will fit well under this bed the tall TROFAST is 1/2 too tall all the others are 4-10 inches of wasted space.1
Easy to assemblejharBed was very easy by IKEA standards to assemble. The store however was out of twin bed slats and doesn't expect more until the end of the month, 20 days after I bought the bed!3
Nice bed at a great pricea330200pilotGood product with a good price5
ATLienJust bought this bed frame in the twin size for my daughter. Got it all set up in her new bedroom and purchased a twin mattress from another retailer, only to find the mattress WILL NOT FIT IN THE FRAME!!! Am more than a little frustrated, as I don't see anywhere in the product description that the frame requires a non standard sized mattress. Would appreciate some feedback from IKEA staff regarding selection of an appropriate mattress for this frame. May need to return this item if it's only compatible with IKEA mattresses.2
Very SqueakyLuna DulcineaI bought this bed as a replacement for the previous SLAKT model. The bed had 3 years of use and was literally falling apart. I figured I would get a newer bed. At first I was so excited to have found a replacement, but within a week of use the bed begin to squeak with the most minimal turn. My son is 4 and weights about 38 lbs. I am very disappointed with the product2
Looks greatasiagBought this bed for my 6 years old since he hated his twin bed and hardly slept in it. Easiest bed I’ve put together by far took less then 1 hour. He loved it and stayed in it all night. Not to high for him it is a little bigger then I thought but it stills works. Going to add the underbed for his brother. Very satisfied with purchase.5
PERFECT for what I needed!Chloe_41I was looking for an inexpensive twin bed that allowed for a good amount of under the bed storage, as my space is small and I really needed the twin bed to have that. I also wanted a sleek design that my child could grow into. And I must say, this works PERFECTLY for both of them! I was shocked at how much you can fit under the bed (I didn’t buy any of the ikea add ons), and I am over the moon with that! Unlike the previous reviewer, the height isn’t concerning to me, I would say 6 and up is a good age for those using the bed. Not a problematic height at all. The design is something a small child to teenager would like. Simple, but timeless. The only negative is how you can see two of the metal bolts once the bed is put together, but I knew that’s how the bed would come, so I’m not upset, just more of a design choice I’m not overly fond of. But since that is my only real negative, I cannot recommend this bed enough, seriously, it is great!!5
Way too tall. Not a kids bed for 8-12 year olds. Not Satisfied 1This bed is way too tall and I wouldn’t consider it a kids bed. Maybe good for a fully grown teenager but I would certainly not recommend it for kids 8-12 years old like it is being advertised.1

It takes a lot of work to chill out

Pre-teen kids are probably the busiest people we know. It might not always look like it on the outside, but on the inside everything runs at hyper speed. With all the energy needed for growing, it makes sense that once they're home, a place to relax and recover is pretty important. That’s where the SLÄKT range comes in. To get it right, we had to go back to the start.

We ordered a study that focused on children aged 8-12 from all around the world. From that we tried to make something that fitted in both with what kids want, and what the parents think the kids need as well.

A worldwide study on what kids want

Child and adolescent psychotherapist Dr Barbie Clarke and her research agency Family Kids & Youth carried out the global study. "Early adolescence is an important phase because it's a slow move towards autonomy and independence,” says Barbie. “There's this huge growth happening that requires a lot of energy. It's not a joke that they really can't wake up in the morning!" One of the big findings was that kids wanted a place to relax and retreat, while still being close to their parents (who still are their biggest influence), even if hanging out with friends is a growing focus. "The bedroom also becomes a place for entertaining with friends. The phrase 'chilling out' was something that we heard around the world. 'Oh, I just want to chill out' is a key desire".

Furniture made to be spontaneous

Building on the research, the work began. We designed SLÄKT to be super modular and adaptable, as well as easy to move around if say a bunch of friends come over. After we tested everything for safety we asked children for their feedback. Then we changed certain designs to be even easier to use and relax with. The kids favorite: a fold out mattress that can be stored under the bed and brought out whenever it’s chill out time. Kids seem to just sort of fall on it. No communication, just 'aaah!'.
