Nice look but no bulbNANCYIt was not clear enough that this fixture does not include the led light itself which is another 10 dollars and only available at ikea. It also doesn’t come with any screws or wire nuts unlike any other fixture I have ever gotten. Too many shortcuts to be considered a good deal.2
Ok, not easy to install, doesn’t sit flushMegsLaceyI bought 2 of these lights to replace existing hallway ceiling lights and I’m not impressed IKEA. The bulb they chose for this makes the fittings / screw placements wider than your standard housing unit in the ceiling. We had to mount to the drywall and luckily we have those parts because these lights DID NOT come with screws or any mounting gear. Very disappointed in ikea for not supplying screws at the very least! Once installed the lights don’t sit flush with the ceiling because the way the metal press was shaped for this light it created a raised section on the wall mount side thus creating a gap between the drywall and the light. Also the light has these holes in them so when the light turns on you can see the light coming through the other side. We remedied this by using black electrical tape on the holes to stop the light coming through and shining on the ceiling. IKEA you are better than this and your design team does better than this. We are keeping the lights because they look good with the other fixtures in the house but what a pain in the butt they were to install and clean up.3
Decent light, but not a flush mountjimborinoIn the pictures it looks like a flush mount fixture but due to the under side of the fixture not being flat, you can't get it to lay flat against the ceiling. There are holes in the bottom so light peeks out from underneath it. Maybe this is by design, but it's difficult to get the fixture to appear even/parallel to the ceiling (light peeks out one side more than the other)3

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
