Glass cabinetMIRVANAEasy to assembly, fine contemporary glass cabinet .5
Classic look, Love them!Anna M.I bought 2 cabinets for my dining room and using them as china/buffet pieces. I topped them off with the Travdrag cabinet lighting. They immediately changed the look of the room, very elegant and the lighting is the icing on the cake. The cabinet assembly was easy and one person can do it but the doors were not so easy. 2 people needed to lift the cabinet then install the doors. After the first door assembly I learned to adjust the hinges prior to mounting the door to the cabinet. I adjusted the screws that attach to the cabinet to the bottom of the hole. Once attached I let gravity do the work to push the door down to align it. It was a lot easier than lifting the door. I hope this helps :)5
Blanket StorageTheresaI bought this for the guest bedroom to store extra blankets and pillows in. I just love it!5

Turned out great! Really happyCHELSEATurned out great! Really happy with it! Getting the doors on was a struggle and took us 3 people. But again, LOVE the appearance. Our friends even asked where we got it and we’re surprised it was IKEA5
Stunning Display Case!BrandonI had been shopping around for the right display case for a while with no success until I went into IKEA. I went purchase the Billy bookcase but when I saw the Regissor I knew immediately that it was the cabinet I was searching for. It’s perfect for displaying my model cars and I’m always receiving positive compliments on how nice it is. I am very impressed with this cabinet and price at the time of my purchase was good and reasonable.5
Tons of storage!MINDYGood, solid, heavy cabinet with tons of storage space. Can’t get the hinges to keep the door up on one side and finally gave up, so that side rubs when it closes. Wish there was a frosted glass version.4
We ordered two shelves. TheMicheleWe ordered two shelves. The first was a bit tricky without parts numbered but quickly figured it out. Second one was a breeze to put together.5
Utter Nightmare to AssembleHendrick S.After two hours of work and troubleshooting with a partner, one of the glass doors of this admittedly good-looking cabinet is still not fully attached while the other has been disassembled with no guess as to when it will be finished, save reserving an installation service.3
PerfectCherylI bought this to use as a pantry in my kitchen and it is perfect. I love the look of it and it holds a lot.5

Beautiful cabinet with soooooo much room!LaviniaWe saw the setup in the store of the three cabinets side by side in a dining room and decided to replicate it for maximum impact and storage. Purchased three of these, and three units actually (tightly) fit in one pickup truck bed though these are huge and heavy units! The packaging is excellent, not a single broken piece of glass. Assembled all three over a couple of days due to time/schedules. Before completing each, we wallpapered the inside back panel with peel and stick wallpaper (lots of patience required for that). Love the new assembly process/how things are made to fit together and super sturdy shelves! Once secured to the wall and filled, they completely transformed our space and are doing a fabulous job in our dining room keeping things light (we purchased the white ones) and bright (the reflections of light on the glass are welcome in our low-ceilings ranch house)! Great quality!5
Beautifully made cabinetsLORRAINEBeautifully made cabinets5
Door install could be betterSHAWNI have assembled many different Ikea products (entire bedroom sets, shelves, kitchen tables, chairs, sofa, etc.). These doors were a pain to install. Hard to have someone hold while you get the holes lined up and attach the screws. And the unit will attempt to fall over with both doors open while empty. We were trying to get the doors aligned properly and almost lost the entire unit! Other than that, the unit is serving its purpose to display items.4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet attached to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak, and beech, and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.
