I made an account just to tell you NOT to buy thisToluWe bought in on a whim while in store because it looked cool - wish I had seen the reviews before purchasing because besides the aesthetic, the product won't operate unless it's connected to a wall charger. I've tried inserting new batteries and it still won't hold a charge unless it's connected to the wall.
Turns off after 5 secAbigailI got this as a reading lamp for my son. It's cute, and I think the light is perfect for a reading light. The shade tips over despite tinkering with it. The big issue is that despite charging and replacing the batteries it turns off after a few seconds and my son starts screaming - "Mommy! You know the lamp doesn't work!" I've missed the return window and keep hoping that if we just charge it one more time somehow it will magically fix itself but so far no dice.
Assembly StruggleAmyI did not realize that assembly was required. The instructions were not clear and I was not successful putting this together. I returned it.

Brand new batteries, and the lamp still turns off after only a few seconds. It’s very very dim as well, and while I enjoy low, comfortable lighting, this barely lights up a two foot radius.

Cute but battery cover won't lastLauraI loved this lamp, especially when combined with the rechargeable batteries, but the battery cover is very flimsy. Eventually the force of the batteries pushing down on the cover will cause it to break off. The only reason mine lasted over a year is because I jerryrigged it but even with added support the battery cover eventually gave away. If they changed the design I would buy another in a heartbeat, otherwise I do not recommend getting this lamp.

I unfortunately didn't get my money back because I missed the return window. It wasn't worth the buy, even for the price.
Tricky assembly but love this lamp!HarrietIKEA’s screw and washer design for the lampshade is not the best. There’s a sort of oval plastic washer under the knurled screw that must fit exactly right or the shade won’t hold its tilt. So assemble with care and IKEA, please make the screw/washer set fit better next iteration. Otherwise it’s really cute and casts a nice soft light.
Cute but very cheap/flimsyDianaLooks great but fyi it’s all plastic, including the shade. Also the screws that hold the shade in place… don’t. It flips from side to side with the slightest movement and takes a careful hand to have it balanced in a neutral position. Shame because it’s gorgeous.
I guess you get what you pay for but I’d gladly pay more for a higher quality version!
Lovely little lampAnonymousWorks perfectly. I charged it once and it’s been running for a full week with 3–4 hours of use per day. Assembly was straightforward. It doesn’t come with batteries, but they’re easy to find at any store. I’m not sure why the ratings are low - I’m very happy with this lamp.

Doesn’t turn on…TomI am quite disappointed about this lamp. After the tedious assembly, I inserted the rechargeable batteries and plugged in the cord to charge it. The blinking light indicating it was charging did not change. After several hours, I attempted to turn on the light to no avail. The instructions don’t provide how to disassemble to see if the wires are properly connected. For me, this requires a special trip to Ikea as it’s not that close to my home and I ordered it on line and it appears you can’t just mail it back. Really do better Ikea!
