DurableMonicaI've owned the Muren in the light gray for almost 10 years, and even subjected it to a cross-country move. The chair functions just as well as the first day I got it. I'm only dropping a star for the dull fabric choices.4
goodJunyaI like it because it's relaxing.
The backrest reclines, making it easy to use.5
Better than most, but could be better.Anonymous reviewerThe chair looks nice and is priced lower than many recliners. It’s relatively comfortable, but could be improved with a softer, more natural fabric and the ability to lock in more than one position and to extend the footrest while upright.3
Long term useBrianHad this for less then two years. Used it every day started to fall apart after a year. The wood frame snapped, small pieces fell off. Had to throw it away at this point. It was good until it started to fall apart.3
Great Chair but the covers do not stay on JovelineGreat chair for the value but the arm chair and head covers don’t stay on. IKEA should have designed for them to attach and detach. It is annoying. 4
Great chairSarahThis is a great chair. Comfortable, easy to put together. Great value. The only thing I would improve is a fabric that is a little bit more resistant to cat claws (as some of the other upholstery options are).5
Cut my finger deeplyAnonymous reviewerIf you try to recline this chair to retrieve items that inevitably get caught in the footrest, and you grab it and pull up on the footrest while not sitting in the chair , the extending parts will nearly cut your finger off. Beware. 1
Second Muren ReclinerNancyMy original Muren Recliner served me well for over five years. It got me through back surgery, knee replacement surgery, a mild case of Covid, and many sleepless nights. It no longer gave me the back support I needed.
I am currently going through chemo treatments for Stage 0 Pancreatic Cancer, and I could not go to the store to buy and bring home my new recliner. I ordered it online with delivery to our house. It was the perfect solution.
I am only 5'1", and the Muren Relciner is the perfect recliner for short people. It is easy to put together, and it is so very comfortable to relax and watch tv, take a nap, or even spend a restless night. 5
Ikea should make this foreverScottOne family member bought a dark gray muren and now there's 3 in the family! What a value deal affordable and comfortable. cheaper than other recliners. They should make the dark gray one forever 5
Incredibly poor qualityElisabethI had an earlier version of this recliner that, while the upholstery became uncleanable, was much sturdier. I’ve had this new version in my living room for 3 months and the upholstery is full of snags and last night the bottom part of the recliner snapped as if it were cardboard when I pushed down gently to unrecline it. Not worth $100, much less nearly $500. 1
Surprise!JonathanI was very surprised. Darn good recliner!5
FurnitureKatherineThe couch and chair are awesome5
So comfortableKelliIt's super comfortable, but the fabric is a little scratchy.4
Why make something, and not have an option as with everything else in the store?ClementineOk, there is an explanation for the mixed-stars, the recliner itself is comfortable, but it has been in my basement for at least five years, waiting for IKEA to make the replacement covers for it. This is the ordinal model, the one the cushion doesn't get removed. My brother gave it to me as a wedding gift, and just a few months after we got it, my husband spilled coffee on it, and that was the end of it. I tried to clean it, professionally steamed, but the stain never really came out. I checked with IKEA for a replacement cover since there is always one, but none was made for this model. My brother spent a little over $400.00, and I waited for them to make the cover. Instead, they updated the model in which the cushion is now removable, so I guess there is no chance they will make a cover for the original. I waited to write this because I had hoped, but it's very upsetting that I'm probably going to have to throw away this good recliner just because I can get a cover for it.1
Great chair for the moneyScottI purchased this chair for my condo in as is section (feet were missing looks like so the put metal ones on, but new condition) and it's just a fantastic chair! It's well worth the money, it's firm but soft. It's design matches everything. Mine has chrome metal feet from the couch set and it looks more modern, hip. My grandpa loves it and I'm going to buy him one because of his bad back. I hope they don't discontinue it and keep offering it in this color for customers. What a an amazing value!5
Metal brackets were not alignedMarkMetal brackets were not aligned for easy installation of the side pieces. We are both engineers and we had to make adjustments.4
ReclinerMelanieI love this chair. Easy assemble. Great look. Firm. Just what I wanted.5
Comfortable and affordableCaroleMuren was easy to assemble, and is quite comfortable both sitting up and in the reclined position. I bought dark gray. The material does seem to pick rather easily (disclaimer: I have cats) I would definitely buy it again if I needed a second recliner.4
My family love the chairs!LawrenceMy family love the chairs!5
Functional and affordableAnonymousThis is a great value for a recliner. I don’t think it will last a long time. The fabric is itchy and attracts stains. Wish there were more choices than black or gray.3
