Eh. Malm quality has gone down the drain but price is WAY UPKAREN W.Love the color but that’s it. HOMY MOLY the quality compared to the Malm I replaced is VERY noticeably worse. CHEAP lightweight materials that came already pre-chipped (how thoughtful) so I got plenty of splinters assembling it. The drawers aren’t as heavyweight and durable. They sound hollow and cheap when opening and closing. They also don’t pull out far enough. The panel of the frame above each drawer is super rough and unfinished so if you have an article of clothing that sort of pops up, it’ll snag. I hate this thing now and wish my old one would’ve lasted a little longer than 20yrs. And to add insult to injury, the malm series has seen significant price hikes throughout the pandemic. NOT A FAN. Pass on this unless you must have something to match your malm bed (my case)2

Great IKEA MALM 6-drawer chest that saves a lot of spaceERKAN B.I used to use IKEA HEMNES 6-drawer chests but its big drawer was collapsing. There was no support underneath, and I was unable to load a lot of stuff. I decided to buy MALM. It is beautiful in design and functionality. I bought two of these, and placed symmetrically in my bedroom. I am so glad that I bought them. It is worth the money, and I recommend this IKEA MALM product.5

Perfect for many reasonsMisako M.I purchased this item for my guest room. My guest room is not big and does not have space for a dresser so this six drawer chest fit perfectly. Also I purchased a Malm storage bed along with this so they look very nice together and now there’s a plenty of storage space. From my observations a task rabbit assembler I used did a great job on building this chest. It seemed to be pretty easy for handy people to assemble. Easy to clean because of the finish of the product, the room looks lighter and larger because of the color. I like the smoothly opened drawers. This will last for a long time for sure. By securing it it is very sturdy. I recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a quality, an affordable chest of drawers.5
iSSUE WITH DRAWERMiranda J.I bought this dresser and everything went fine during the assembly till I go and put the last drawer in and it won't close all the way because it seems like it Is getting stuck, I tried for a week every day trouble shooting the drawer, assessing if I made a tiny error and can't figure out why it won't close.1

Nice simple dresserDavid K.It’s a decent quality dresser. Assembly not so much. You’ll have a lots of pieces to assemble one drawer. Make sure all your hardware is included. Also it has quite sharp edges so be mindful when installing in kids room. Overall, it’s good size, deep drawers. I’d recommend it.4

Malm 6 Draw DresserBonnie S.I am a little disappointed because I purchased this dresser about 3 or so months ago and I don’t have the receipt. I am finally able to put it together and the top piece is damaged in the front corner. I am not sure what to do now. There is no way to hide the sliced laminated piece. So far all the other pieces are in great shape. I am unable to return this item. I wish I could just replace this top part.2

Shoddy Wooden Plank Meant for SupportGiancarlo D.Never had an issue building IKEA furniture. This is the first time one of the main pieces was not cut well, but just an aesthetic issue. However, my biggest pain points are the shoddy wooden planks meant to connect the 2 larger pieces were extremely shoddy. I'm disappointed that these pieces are not under spare parts which almost makes sense. Can't complete the build without thinking of an alternative solution, so 1 star.2

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
