Perfect small desk!AlexisI love the color and size of this desk, for the space I needed it for. It's sturdy and was fairly easy to assemble.5
Great DeskGailThe desk is great, but a little long to put it all together.5
Nice look for a simple desk and easy to assembleEricThis item had many more parts than it first appeared so it took a little longer than expected to assemble. But like all my IKEA furniture experiences the instructions were easy to follow and it was another fun project. The drawer has a nice feel to the slide operation and the cable tray offers a great place to keep excess cords and power supplies.5
Great Desk!LAUREN O.I purchased to downsize from a big clunky Sauder desk. I love the look of this desk & it will help me keep the clutter away with the smaller surface area. I did purchase a Vattenkar laptop/monitor stand to put my lamp, phone charger, other gadgets on, which in turn gave more storage space underneath the stand. I also purchased a Susig cork desk pad so that I don't damage the surface or need a mouse pad. This desk was easy to assemble by myself, I did ask my husband to assist twice. I was not shorted hardware, all hardware fit perfectly, all holes aligned. Those complaining that it was hard to assemble need to compare to a piece of Sauder - the complaints will end! I feel the assembled product is sturdy, well made and thoughtfully detailed (love the hidden compartment - keeps all the wires out of sight). My ONLY complaint is the drawer. It's nice & deep, but only pulls out about halfway. Hard to access the other half drawer & I don't understand why it is designed this way...weird.5
Handsome desk; harder than average to buildChrisThis is a great looking desk. It was harder to put together than most IKEA furniture4
Gorgeous desk, very heavy!Jessica M.I bought this using the Click and Collect option and was shocked by how heavy it was loading into my car. While this isn’t a solid wood product, it isn’t flimsy either. I had to wait months for the dark blue-green color to restock and the price increased in that time unfortunately. I disagree with people who say this is hard to put together. It is a longer build, definitely do it when you have the time, but it’s very straight forward and the directions are clear. I am small woman, but I was able to put it together by myself. There is really only one part where having a second hand would be helpful. Screwing in the drawer slides was the hardest part. Helpful tip that I figured out, screw in the screw first, unscrew it, and then then screw on the slide. Having that guide helps a lot in such a small dark space. IKEA might want to consider swapping out the blunt screws for pointier ones.5

Beautifully EngineeredChereg A.As experienced Ikea assemblers, we found this a complex build but finished within 2 hours. All parts were included and exact, directions were clear. Thrilled with the finished piece to sit between twin beds in our guest room. It's sturdy and attractive. Warm grey/beige finish isn't glossy so we'll protect the top with a (16" x 32") clear desk mat pad.5

Only positives on this one.ThomasEasy to build, lightweight but sturdy. Looks great.5
Cute deskJenniferUsing as a desk and vanity…perfect!5
mis-drilled part...can't finish assemblingMANDYone of my side panels had the holes drilled incorrectly. I am not able to finish putting it together. Customer support said they would mail me a replacement and it would be a few days. After a few days I contacted someone to find out the status, and that person said it would take two weeks just to process my request. So it is sitting in pieces on my office floor, unable to be completed.2
Beautiful and I love it.MarandaI love this desk. It's so beautiful. Only thing I hate is that the drawer barely opens.4
Beautiful 🤩AudetteI love, love this desk! It’s beautiful, color is unique, it’s sturdy and I’m glad my husband was available to help me build it😊 The drawer railings were difficult for me. So happy we bought this! I wish there were more items offered in this color….shelving, night stand, frames. Great color 👍🏻5

Too small, too many pieces, not qualityAsmaThe desk took too long to assume. A couple woods pieces cracked during installation. Not worth the price but we were in need of a desk for school. Would not recommend this desk.2

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.

Designer thoughts

"LOMMARP stands out – and blends in. The series has references to traditional carpentry, but I've also given it a modern touch to suit today's urban lifestyles. It's a little like that unique piece of furniture you’ve inherited from a family member, with distinct details and matte colors to add personality and character to the room. LOMMARP can be used anywhere in the home where you need storage, and the expressive yet clean design makes it easy to combine with other furniture."
