LjudlosJAHMALMy eldest daughter is obsessed with tea at the moment. This was a must have.5
GoodJoyceI like how this works5
Love This; Bought Four TotalRachaelThese are fab tea steepers. I went back and bought three more so four total so if we have company, everyone can have their own tea.5
Big Holes!GrimaldiThis did not work for me. Either I don’t know what I’m doing or this thing is for bagged tea. I use cheesecloth bags and thought I’d give this a try being that it seems easier to wash, but oh Lordy…my tea was full of leaves, the holes are waaaay too big!1
I like how this sitsHEATHERI like how this sits over the mug top. I wish the holes were a smaller diameter so some small loose tea didn't make it through.4
I only hand washed itSARAHI only hand washed it and the long handle broke easily after a couple of time of using it. That happened to two of the 5 I purchased.3
Excellent Loose Tea StrainerHelenwell made. I especially like the bottom holder to fit the strainer in.5
Great productNubiaGreat product5
Interesting tea strainerDetroit V.Very interesting design for a tea strainer. Gave it as a gift, recipient was happy with it.5
NiceIssuWorking fantastically my tea great using the product5
Good design, good priceBirdfishIn the world of metal single cup tea infusers you have two choices: wire mesh or pierced metal. For me this pierced mini cup is the winner. Mesh keeps more of the smaller leaves inside but becomes deformed easily, is harder to clean, becoming an eyesore of limited capacity within a year. With pierced metal, the holes let a few tiny leaves through, but those settle to the bottom of the cup, easily avoided. Liquoring of the water by the tea is rapid and complete. And if you're into watching the agony of the leaf, the open top allows you to see the interaction of the leaves and the hot water. The ease of emptying this guy is great and the fact I can throw it in the dishwasher seals the deal. It's a keeper. In fact I bought two!5
Perfect!Joji1Exactly what I wanted to steep loose leaf tea in and handle is long enough so it fits well in just about every mug I own.5
It Works!MaggieMaeI use loose tea. I hate those balls, tea is supposed to be loose not tightly pounded into them. I don’t like strainers because they’re awkward. I put my tea loosely I the container, when I’m finished I put the container in the holder. Simple, neat, the right way to make loose tea.5
Love it.kosamed2This is my favorite, and I bought second one. I use this in my office everyday. Compact, durable and easy to wash.5
JVBKI brew a lot of Chinese teas “gong fu” style using the same leaves for multiple infusions. This strainer is the easiest and best one I’ve ever used . So easy to clean- and a nice surprise : the little bowl the strainer sits in rings like a bell . I love this thing5
cookie 8This is a very efficient infuser. It has room for tea leaves to expand and enrich the flavor of the tea.5
mommajacthe idea of this product is a good one. However, the holes are too big and the loose tea gets through to the water.3
Well Designed InfuserWho KnowsBest used with larger leaf teas, as some bits of tea often escape through the holes of the infuser basket. I prefer this over a tea ball or larger infuser basket as it's much easier to clean. There are no moving mechanisms that are subject to fail over time. The handle that holds the infuser basket over the mug also makes it easier to handle than some other designs. The drip tray is perfectly compact and does it job. I only wish it had finer holes for smaller/more delicate teas, but it is excellent otherwise.5
Awesome tea infuserPHX home remodelerAs with so many IKEA products, there is the blend of great quality and value. This is great for everyday use and I anticipate it having a long life of use. With the great price, I leave one at home, one at the office, and I leave one in the car for when I travel. I just bring the loose leaf tea.5
Happily surprised!Luna 0077I've been looking for a stainless steel tea infuser online and the only ones I have seen are two or three times the cost. This was a great value and worked very well. The holes are small and only very small particles can fit through.5

A better everyday one cup at a time

Have you had coffee or tea today? Statistically, you most likely have. In fact, these hot brews are the most consumed beverages in the world next after water. They’re a part of life that can give a silver lining to any moment. That’s why we decided to update our selection of products to make that perfect cup – from the tea infuser and the kettle to the milk frother.

Malin Ljungström, who was involved in developing the range, shares her insights. “To many, the smell of coffee and tea means well-being and a homey feeling. Since we want to improve people’s everyday, we’re offering products that make it possible for more to experience more feelgood moments at home.”

Developing things that make a difference

Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

For all tastes and different wallets

No matter how you enjoy your cup, you’ll find the things that put an extra flavor to your drink in the range. Another good thing is that there’s something for all wallets. “It’s one of our contributions to a better life at home. A way to improve people’s everyday one cup at a time,” concludes Malin.

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.
