Very pretty!CarmenI bought this as a surprise for my daughter. She's coming home for Thanksgiving break. Set it up yesterday while watching college football. Fairly easy. Would have went easier if I had some help. No noise & squeaks so far from the bed itself. It speaks to my minimalist style.4
Love it!DebraGreat product for the right price. Easy to put together too.5
Wobbly, noisy and unsafeGagaTIt’s a beautiful bed. We had a similar ikea bed in a queen so when we upgraded to a king it was a no brainer to get this one. It been a few years now and the squeeking is driving us crazy. We’ve put up with it for some time now and with small children, it has not been a priority to replace I guess were waiting for the legs to break soon. We used under the bed for some storage but recently removed everything from down there. Now we have to get rid of the bed because my kids like going under and it just does not feel safe. I love that it is high and am even willing to put up with the noise but not with the fear of my kids being under the bed when the legs finally give out.1
Have had 2 for over 10 yearsNanaBananasWe purchased two of these for our upstairs bedrooms over 10 years ago, and they have held up very well. I'd highly recommend them, especially at the now lower cost.5
Lovely bed frame!PegTxI love this and it’s perfect for my bedroom!5
I love it but so squeakyHeyJen123I've had this bed frame for almost three years. I really do love the look of it. I've put it together by myself twice, and it still continue to look lovely. Nothing so far has bent or fallen apart, but the squeaking now is so loud and seems to come from multiple corners of the bed at once. It wakes me up during the night. I wonder if the neighbors hear it too. The bed is also pretty shaky. I'm here looking at reviews for a solution and seeing so many similar reviews...now it all makes sense. I'm so disappointed.3
TerriibleMichelle572I bought this bed 1 year ago. It a really pretty bed. It was fine for the first couple of months then started to squeak really bad. The leg are wobbly with no way to tighten them. The whole bed shakes and moves. Its awful. I would return it but unfortunately I didn't keep my receipt.1
Poor QualityAgespOne of my favorite bed designs as I bought for my master bedroom. After a few months it started to make noise whenever I move. Keeps me up at night and has made this quarantine quite rough... Don't purchase.1
Way to squeaky!qtpie0680I bought this in queen size in December 2016 for my very first apartment. To this day i still sleep on it and it has squeaked since I purchased it. I’ve taken it apart and retightened it so many times. I wish I would’ve just returned it but I really loved the look. Now I’m finally looking for a new bed set but NOT from ikea. What a waste of my money. DO NOT PURCHASE!1
SqueakyAmandaCGI was in love with this bed frame, it’s so romantic! So I bought in the queen size 15 months ago. In the last 2 months, the bed started to SQUEAK A LOT! It’s awful! I’m waking up in the night a lot of times because of the noise, it’s so loud, I can’t even move my legs! My roommate started to complain about the noise too. I tried everything to fix it, but nothing worked. So probably I’ll have to replace it, 15 months after the purchase! I’m pretty sad and disappointed! It was a waste of money.1
Non-stop squeakingDisco DanI bought this bed frame in a full size at the $129 price. I loved the look of this bedframe for my daughter's room. After about a year it started squeaking all the time. Any little shift and the bed will make a high pitched squeaking noise. It got so bad that my daughter refused to sleep in her own bed. I tried tightening the bolts that hold it together, I tried loosening the bolts, I even shoved felt in-between, nothing would silence it. I have never been more disappointed with something from Ikea. I took it apart today, but I don't know what to do with it. I don't want to sell to some unsuspecting person who will not be able to sleep due to the incessant noise the bedframe makes.1
Love the idea, not so much the exeuction.Cali_IKEA_älskareLike most, I love the look and cost of this bed. I'm a big fan of IKEA product and typically have not had any issues... except with this bed. It may be tough to tell, but the legs connect into the bed, but the connecting leg part is made up of two pieces. These separate leg pieces have been connected to together with a very small stitch melding, so after about a year, they don't fit fully into their socket as welll, causing the bed to creak and rock. I have subsided the creaking with WD40 and don't mind applying every so often, but regardless, I can't stop the rocking of the bed and it can be dizzying in the middle of the night when it moves whenever you change sleeping positions. Outside of that one leg piece, this bed is really wonderful and looks beautiful, but I'm disappointed in IKEA for potentially overlooking this one minor but very important element.2
Beautiful but quite noise bedPauly31I have this bed over a year. It’s beautiful, clean and romantic BUT it’s pretty noisy, you turn, you sit and you hear a squeak. Many times I believe I will wake up on the floor because 1 leg turn in any direction so every time I notice I put the leg straight.1
READ THIS REVIEW FOR THE TRUTH! I OWN 20+ BEDS!FunHumanHere is what you need to know. I own rental apartments in Boston and I furnish the rooms for tenants. I have purchased 20+ of these frames over the last 5 years. After assembly the frames look great. They feel solid and are very durable. I do not use slats I use a quality box spring and mattress combo. This substantially adds to the rigidity of the bed. it does make the mattress a little higher than normal. But I have never had a single complaint about these beds from any tenants large or small. NOW LET ME EXPLAIN PEOPLES ISSUES. First the original assembly design of these frames was a nightmare. Warning make sure you have the framed squared up before you tighten the bolts mentioned or the frame will assemble at an angle. There are eight bolts that screw into the the head and foot board and legs. You basically hang the side boards on these extended bolts. In the past design you were provided with a funky wrench to tighten the bolts. There was barely enough space to get the wrench in the bolt access area and it took from 20 minutes to an hour to tighten these bolts. THIS IS THE NOISE COMPLAINT ISSUE. Nobody tightens the bolts really tight!!! Most people give up once they get the bolts a couple of turns tight. It was such a hassle people were happy to finish. THIS IS WHY THE BED SQUEAKS. After a couple of weeks the screws work themselves lose and nobody ever re-tightens the bolts. YOU MUST tighten these bolts hard!! To the point you think you will strip the threads. Solution tightens the bolts. I have never striped one and I have taken the frames apart with no damage. NEW ASSEMBLY DESIGN 2019! The bolt access holes have been enlarged to a functional size. And a new wrench is provided for assembly. This is like night and day. You can now tighten the 8 bolts with ease. Problem solved. Since I am an expert at assembling these beds. It now takes me 10-15 minutes by myself to assemble these frames. Novice with help 30-40 minutes and it's not a chore any longer. I still give the bed a fair rating for assembly because of the hassle it caused. I hope this explains everything you need to know.4
TERRIBLEWinn123This bed was the worst purchase I ever made at Ikea. I love everything at Ikea and when I saw this bed on display I fell in love. Everything was fine for the first 2 weeks. Then after it kept squeaking! I tried to tighten everything and it got better for a day. Now, it just wont stop squeaking. A single movement makes it so loud and irritating. I would rather sleep on an air mattress than this thing!1
So adorable but horrible design for the legsKjvanblarcomIt is such a beautiful bed with a great price. We bought this for my daughter last year the squeaking started immediately. It got to the point where she begged for a new bed. I just moved it into our guest room and realized it wasn’t just a matter of tightening it up. I have all the screws as tight as I can get them and can still rock the entire bed about 2” to each side. It doesn’t look safe and it did not address the squeaking.1
I’ve owned this bed for over 15 years & I love it!ThefabulousmathteacherI had this bed since I was in high school, living with my parents. I am happy to say that I brought this bed into my first apartment, now living on my own. At first I thought this bed was squeaking, similar to many of the folks in the comment section but what I’ve come to realize after all these years is the bed wasn’t squeaky, it was my boxspring this entire time. Once I switched my boxspring out, no squeaking at all. I learned that after a few years, your boxspring can weaken due to everyday use. I bought some plywood, mainly to give my bed some height, and this was the best thing I could’ve ever done! There is no squeaking and my bed is nice and high! I truly love this bed and would recommend it to anyone! Also, make sure you have every screw screwed in and that it’s not super tight, make sure it is just right! Hopefully I have some insight to this bed I’ve owned for this long!5
Used to be great...Miss RomanI bought this frame 8 yrs ago and it was super solid. I had to move, couldn’t take it with me and left it to friend. Once settled, I bought the king frame again and it squeaks horribly while adulting. I still love IKEA for its improvements, yet wish they would leave well enough alone.2
Very squeakyKatiejoWish I would have read the reviews before I purchase this bed. I've had it for about a year and a half and it is very squeaky. I have gotten new screws and tighten them up multiple times but it continues to squeak, everyone in the house can hear every move I make it's very annoying. Next time I will read the reviews before I make a purchase. Because I'm over my one year warranty I'm stuck with it.1
I"m buying it againSporkerellaRollsNJellaI bought it 5 years ago. I didn't have high hopes because of its extremely cut rate price. Yeah it squeaks it does more when you're missing 2 screws . My partner is 6'4 220 lbs. I'm 5'1 125 lbs now but I was 70 lbs heavier for 2 of them years. My dog is 70 lbs . The bed totally sings the song of its ancestors but it hasn't bent from it it hasn't collapsed. If you own metal furniture you know that they're very noisy. Yall folk just need something to complain about and that's sad . I hope you learn to accept the beauty in the quirks of stuff in our lives. Also I put this beautiful singing metal bed together by myself. I did it. But if you are flexible it's a fun challenge5

Designer thoughts

"When I designed LEIRVIK bed frame I was inspired by the almost limitless possibilities metal gives to combine soft organic forms with straight, simple ones. My biggest challenge was the high headboard, which I finally decided to make in two parts to simplify transport. Most fun was shaping the knobs, legs and details directly at the lathe machine. I followed my instincts and made them without using drawings. I hope the bed will appeal to everyone who dreams of a romantic bedroom."
