Very pretty!CarmenI bought this as a surprise for my daughter. She's coming home for Thanksgiving break. Set it up yesterday while watching college football. Fairly easy. Would have went easier if I had some help. No noise & squeaks so far from the bed itself. It speaks to my minimalist style.4
Easy to put together andAngelinaEasy to put together and no issues with the bed making any noise.5
Love it!DebraGreat product for the right price. Easy to put together too.5
Beautiful bedSarahMy teenage daughter wanted this bed for quite a while and when we finally got it, she loved it even more in her room. It’s a solid piece and provides a beautiful focal point. We looked at many other white iron bed frames and kept coming back to this one. I’m so glad we chose this one. It wasn’t too hard to put together. It sits higher than her previous bed rails. She says it’s perfect.5
Peffrft bed for my collegeCarolPeffrft bed for my college students apartment!5
Ugh - awful squeaking and unstable legs!rckymtnmamaI'm heartbroken to report that even though this is a beautiful-looking bed, the legs are unstable and squeak so horribly we can hear it when we're in our living room. The bed was fine for a few months, but then something happened and the integrity of the legs started to fail. I don't know what to do - my daughter loves this bed and it looks so pretty in her room... but it's too late to return it, and even if I replaced it, by the sound of the reviews I'll be in the same boat after a little while... Please IKEA - fix the way this is made!1
Wobbly, noisy and unsafeGagaTIt’s a beautiful bed. We had a similar ikea bed in a queen so when we upgraded to a king it was a no brainer to get this one. It been a few years now and the squeeking is driving us crazy. We’ve put up with it for some time now and with small children, it has not been a priority to replace I guess were waiting for the legs to break soon. We used under the bed for some storage but recently removed everything from down there. Now we have to get rid of the bed because my kids like going under and it just does not feel safe. I love that it is high and am even willing to put up with the noise but not with the fear of my kids being under the bed when the legs finally give out.1
Tired of the squeaky noise.Teffy 74I can’t deal with the squeaking. It’s really annoying. No matter how many times i adjust the screws it still squeaks. I should’ve read the reviews before buying. I guess that was my mistake!2
My heart achesBrokenDreamsI have this bad about 8 years ago, when I lived in California and I loved loved loved loved loved it! When I relocated to Chicago I left all of my furniture behind and was living in a fully furnished rental home. I just purchased a new house and decided I was so excited to buy this bad again, within literally three days the legs are so wobbly, it squeaks so bad, it is so unbearable! I I am beyond disappointed! My heart is literally broken! I wish I would have read the reviews beforehand, but I've had this bed before so I assumed it would be perfect all over again. I can't return it so I don't even know what to do. Ingiess I'm just Out $$ because it doesn't feel stable or safe!1
Love / Hate relationshipLinSFI am here to report both my love and disdain for this bed frame. I have had this bed frame for about 6 years, and it's so perfect for me decor-wise. I prefer a high bed, and use a box spring with the bed. It was perfect for 5 years, just as my previous IKEA metal bed frame was (similar style in brown-black). Then all of a sudden the legs are buckling, and the bed sways and squeaks. I've tried everything short of throwing it out the window in the middle of the night. It feels as though my bed is going to shift and fall in the night. It appears to be very weak at the connection points where the legs detach from the head board/footboard. I wish the headboard was one piece with the legs connected as my previous frame was. I'm in absolute mourning over the death of my bed frame and am having a hard time finding something similar.1
The squeaking is unbearable! Do not buy!fisha20Yes when you first put it together it’s fine but give it a month or 2. You can hear the squeaking downstairs and the bed is upstairs with the door closed. It wakes our daughter up who sleeps in the bed. You shouldn’t have to retighten the screws every month. Wish we would’ve returned long ago. We just kept thinking over time and wear it would stop. Nope. We had to buy her a new bed.1
The first two years were great..Annoyed31But now I’ve had this bed for going on 6 years and I want to take it into a field and have an Office Space moment where I beat it with a bat. It’s cute but jeez is it squeaky, the slightest movement makes the loudest noise. Also the little Allen wrench nuts that hold the bed frame together get lost easily and IKEA doesn’t sell them as replacements parts. All in all it’s been a good bed but after a few years I’m at the point that I would pay someone to take this from me.2
9 Years and CountingEmilyC7I've had this bedframe for 9 years at least. I do have a bedspring but its so pretty and makes for a beautiful art piece in your room!5
BeautifulDani 82I’m so glad I didn’t listen to other reviews. This bed doesn’t squeak at all and it’s really pretty. Maybe people aren’t tightening the screws all the way or something but I’m having no problems with it and I’ve had it for a month.5
Worst purchase everAoo1I bought this bed 2 years ago and after a year it started making the squeaky noise that everybody complains about. I was at IKEA Long Island today and a guy was trying to return it and they didn’t take it back because it was used.. well how would you know if that was gonna make that noise without using it. Disappointed..1
so squeaky!sarah555i got this bed frame about a year and a half ago on a whim while in an ikea store. i wish i had read reviews first because it is not a very good bed! it so so so squeaky and noisy. i can't make a minor movement without it making a noise. i haven't tried to tighten the screws on it but, judging from other reviews, i'm not sure how much it would help (or if it'd even be worth it, as it's such a cheap bed that the noise is probably a design flaw). It's fairly sturdy but I'd recommend investing just a little more money into a bed frame that's quieter.2
I beat the squeak!Kimkat79Bought it with thought to the other reviews and as I assembled, cut fabric (dense felt) to fit in between the metal parts that touch, at first it was the four adjoining corners. (Makes sense that metal rubs and makes noise)... my one update was to go back and add a little piece at the top and bottom of the middle support. Anyway, it sounds quiet now but should any noises arise, I’ll just continue to buffer the friction and regularly tighten as needed. I think it’s a gorgeous bed especially for the price! And with tweaking, worth the effort! (Ie purchased with this expectation)5
so squeaky I can’t sleepjcm1995The bed was great for about 15 months but then so so so squeaky with any movement!! I ended up taking it apart in the middle of the night and just put my box spring and headboard on the ground.1
Have had 2 for over 10 yearsNanaBananasWe purchased two of these for our upstairs bedrooms over 10 years ago, and they have held up very well. I'd highly recommend them, especially at the now lower cost.5
Lovely bed frame!PegTxI love this and it’s perfect for my bedroom!5

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"When I designed LEIRVIK bed frame I was inspired by the almost limitless possibilities metal gives to combine soft organic forms with straight, simple ones. My biggest challenge was the high headboard, which I finally decided to make in two parts to simplify transport. Most fun was shaping the knobs, legs and details directly at the lathe machine. I followed my instincts and made them without using drawings. I hope the bed will appeal to everyone who dreams of a romantic bedroom."
