Luxury UnderfootBigSkyBabsThis rug has been on my wish list for some time and I finally bought it. I love how it creates definition and style in my living room, but the bonus is how great it feels under my feet. The varying textures are visually interesting and make it look like an expensive, one-of-a-kind rug.5
GorgeousNette20Lovely well made rug. I made three trips during the rug sale - I finally got the rug I had wanted for months! So happy!5
Great look!!!Jay1405It is beautiful piece of art for very good price!5
klnichols05we unrolled it only to find a couple of the edge pieces unraveling. live too far from the store to return.2
Great PieceReedAdamsI am pleased with my decision to purchase this piece. I love the varying textures within the design. It's a talking piece for all who cross it paths. In addition, I am appreciative of this piece giving back to communities.5
Good look but black dis not fit..VergieLike it at the store but did not look good in my living room..3
Beautiful wool knit rug: like a sweater!Cate363This looks different in person in my opinion. Each little section has a different texture and height and that is what draws your eye instead of the hexagons. In a good way! It’s very soft wool like your favorite sweater. I got this because I wanted a natural, non toxic, soft rug for my son to play on. Most rugs are synthentic and many come reeking of chemicals. I did a ton of research on this. I am very impressed and this looks far more expensive then IKEA. So far, it hasn’t shed a ton, just little bits here and there. Definitely needs a rug pad so make sure you pick one up!5
Kacey123I bought this on a whim, I was looking for Arun but I saw his and new it would be perfect for my space. Lots of textures and soft, make my whole room more cozy! only downside is that the rig tends to pull a bit, but it’s easy enough to fix4
Very Nice Area RugPattie1281I have had this rug for three weeks. It's a rug, what can I say about it? It is soft to walk on, I like the colors (or I would not have purchased it), it seems to be of good quality in that in three weeks of use and vacuuming it has shown no signs of wear of unraveling at the edges. If it were available in a bigger size I would purchase that as well.5
Got a good one!Miu MiuI bought kollung rug on sale and I’m Satisfied very much because it feels very soft and looks good matches with my furniture5
LJB2I bought this 4 months ago - and I still love it!5
Just so prettyajklolI've been looking for months for a rug that was unique, a little neutral, and very soft to touch. This is perfect! My husband made the comment that it feels like you're walking on a comfy sweater. It has a natural feel, and the colors really brightened up our living room. We couldn't be happier.5
Love the rug!judyjodyThe rug I purchased is perfect for the area where I placed it. It's unique and goes well with my furniture.5
Gorgeous rug!BBozzaWe purchased this rug to go with our new sofa and it looks amazing! Very pretty and well made!5
Poorly madeMsysm480I bought because I love the texture and colors But I didn't know i would be having to repairing a lot of snagged threads. Not worth the price. Sad.2
Looks great.AlantownIt has a lot of blue and gray, and brightens my living room.5
Love this rugrobin_gI love this rug! I like the different textures and colors. Stylish and great quality for the price.5
Beautiful Rug, Very durable, Better than picturednekamaWe've had this rug for a little over a month now. After looking at and then actually touching other rugs like this (at IKEA and other stores) this is rug really stood out. We have two small children and a dog and since we got the rug, we've had a good amount of traffic, a couple spills, and few vacuums on it. This rug is fantastic! It shows no signs of wear, the spill easily came out, and the rug doesn't shed much at all when vacuumed. With this rug being 100% wool with a cotton backing cotton, it has no synthetic fabrics, which is GREAT for our youngest who still puts everything into her mouth! The weave has held up to her trying to dissect the puffy sections. Also, while the weave is flat, it has a great variance of texture and so it has an intriguing look and feel. Some areas of the rug are a flatter weave than others, some are a bit higher pile, but the feel of the rug under-foot is exceptional and it has held up well to everything that we have thrown at/dropped on it. We absolutely love this rug and are happy that IKEA carries more natural options like this at a great price. Totally worth the 4hr round trip to get it (because we didn't want to wait for delivery).5

Our take on wool

Wool is a natural, durable and renewable material. It is naturally stain resistant and flame retardant - and it is a great insulator. The many benefits make wool an attractive material choice in IKEA products like rugs, upholstered furniture and wadding in mattresses. There are also environmental benefits to consider. Wool has a smaller carbon footprint than many other textile fibres. This is partly because sheep can be raised on non-arable lands and rough terrains. Further, wool is biodegradable and takes relatively short time to break down. IKEA has a long-term direction to move away from virgin fossil based materials towards more natural and sustainable materials. Wool is a good example of a sustainable material when sourced from farms where sheep are treated with respect and the land they graze on is managed responsibly.

On the road to responsible sourcing

Upholding animal rights is important to IKEA, so when suppliers sign on to work with us, they must follow our requirements on animal welfare as stated in our code of conduct. Further, we are committed to transforming our conventional wool supply chain to 100% Responsibly Sourced Wool by the end of 2025. Meaning all our wool will come from farms certified from animal welfare and land management perspectives and be fully traceable to farm-level. IKEA has started to work with farms in New Zealand who are Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified. The RWS is an independent, voluntary standard, which means that companies and producers can choose to become certified. Certifications like this is one way of securing that sheep are treated with respect and also ensuring that best practices are used in regards to the management and protection of the land. With the competence gained in New Zealand - a well-structured country with long standing traditions of sheep farming, we can take our learnings to other wool producing countries.

Traceable from product to farm level

Being able to trace the wool used in our range back to its origin is key to ensure responsible sourcing and respectable animal welfare for the sheep. Within IKEA, we work to secure the chain of custody by using certified farms as our raw material suppliers. That way the wool we work with is traceable, from final product to the farms. Certified farms are audited annually by an independent certification body, ensuring that demands and standards are being met.

Pulling together for animal welfare

It takes time to build up the right strategic partners across the global supply chain to make an impactful difference. By committing to transforming all our wool to 100% responsibly sourced wool, and telling the process of our journey, we intend to demonstrate how this change can be achieved, raise awareness for responsible wool sourcing and increase the demand

Material

What is wool?

Wool is a natural material that many of us love to keep close to our bodies. It keeps us warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm, and it’s good at absorbing moisture too. Great qualities for rugs, throws and more! We want all wool in our products to come from responsible sources by 2025. That’s why we’ve begun the journey towards complying with the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) with strict demands on animal welfare, land management and traceability.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"The work with KOLLUND rug started with an idea I discussed with skilled weavers. With the help of their expertise, we found a solution that could be handwoven effectively. The pattern is created by two weavers sitting side-by-side and working in parallel with one hexagon each ‒ a way of working that requires very good cooperation, like dancing tango. I hope that both you and your feet like the genuine craftsmanship and the rug’s soft and beautiful surface."
