Great chair for WFH usePamelaI needed a chair without arms because my table is low enough that any chair with arms couldn’t be pushed in and stowed away. Been using the chair for a couple of weeks now and it feels very comfortable.5
Office chairLISABETTAWell made and comfortable!5
Beautiful as a piece of sculpture, uncomfortable as a chairKathleenI loved the look and thought it would be as comfortable as the Marcus but it wasn’t. I tried everything - adding a foot rest so to ease the pressure on my thighs which were half off the seat, adding a seat cushion to make it less hard, adding foam covers to soften the ill fitting and hard armrests - but nothing has worked. And the slim minimalist design suffers once all this necessary padding goes on.
To make matters worse it will not roll on carpet at all, so I also purchased a chair mat. The back does not tilt back unless you push hard which is no way to lean back and relax when working. It is also impossibly difficult to adjust to a locked position.
I’m waiting to see if some of the stiffness will work itself out with use and if not, I will need to return it.
Which brings me to the next problem of how to return it since I don’t drive. I would also have to forfeit the stiff $50 delivery fee. Selling at a loss while trying to remain socially distant is also problematic during a pandemic.
So I would give it 5 starts for the graceful sculptural form, and zero stars for comfort, and the difficulty of returning it.2
Simpler than other equivalent chairsDaliaSimpler than other equivalent chairs at this price range. Took a week or two to adapt.4
Better than expected!SamanthaVery comfortable. I am not sitting in a chair all day and I am glad I splurged on this one.5
Great features!AtayabI am so happy with this purchase, it has all the features you can imagine for an office chair with super comfort.5
Comfortable chair with good features.shelby901I've had this chair for about a month and I am really happy with it. First of all it looks great, and fits in with regular home furniture and doesn't look clunky or out of place. The chair is comfortable, and firm but not overly firm like some have described. It would be nice if the lumbar support had a wider range of adjustability but it works well. The recline option is really nice, and has 4 selections to lock in place. The head rest doesn't protrude too far and is nice to have especially in the slightly reclined position.5
Love this Office ChairYunior94If you bought the famous Markus office chair then this one is going to feel right at home. Sleek look, very flexible, great support overall and for the price, this is a bargain.5
It"s not a Markus.AndreKI was hoping this was a Markus 2.0. The new upgrade to the now legendary Markus chair that we have been all asking for. A headrest, stronger chair legs, adjustable arms and lumbar support/pillow. Let me tell you why this is not a Markus 2.0. The seat cushion is firmer. Now, you must say, so what. Who cares if it's firmer? You can't even tell the difference for the first hour. It's even fine for sitting 4 hours, maybe 6 hours. But after, it's tough to sit 8 hours, 12 hours, 14 hours with out pain. The Ikea Markus is a true 24 hour chair, you can sit forever without pain. In fact, you can share the chair (for example Security Guards) so that someone is always sitting in the chair 24/7 and it's perfectly comfortable. Second reason: The seat cushion is smaller in length. This means the front of your legs are not supported on the cushion, unless you're a small person. This puts fatigue in your legs and reduces the amount of time you can work. You can adjust it, by sliding the seat forward, but it doesn't slide forward enough, only about 4 inches. And if you do slide it forward, the back of your butt is now hanging in the air and not on the seat cushion, because there is now a 4 inch gap in the back of your chair. The Markus has a much bigger cushion, that is also thicker and softer. I still have to praise the positive's. The removable arms are awesome. Not to hard or soft. You can get a gel cover that goes over them, to make them perfect. The wheels are better than the markus, and the feet are thicker and stronger. It leans back a perfectly fine distance. For the price I can't complain. It's just that the Markus was such a good chair, beat out $1,000 plus 24-Hour chairs. This JÄRVFJÄLLET does not beat out $1,000 plus chairs. Also the Markus looks like a modern art piece, a lot of people compliment the look of the Markus and ask where they can buy one. Probaly becuae it's tall, and has curves. For some reason, nobody ever mentions the look of the JÄRVFJÄLLET, it just looks like a regular office chair.3
ww15I bought this office chair 1 month ago and I love it!5
great if you want to improve posture!ian1334I bought the dark grey version without armrests. so far it's great! I'm absolutely pleased with this chair so far. Pros: I'm 5'4 and the chair fits me well, helps keep me sitting up straight, helps me type on my computer properly keeping proper posture. Since the armrests are an optional choice nothing bumps into my desk and i can scoot up all the way under my desk. the reclining ability is an absolute wonder, i can sit however i please! the seat cushion adjuster is very helpful when i want to sit up straight i'll push it in, and when I want to recline I'll push the seat out. works well on carpet floors and wood. Cons: the seat cushion is quite hard, so if you really care about a nice plush seat over hours of sitting this might not be for you. But that doesn't bother me personally. this chair is quite an expensive one so I do hope it lasts me for quite some time, seeing it as i won't be looking for one anytime soon. I wanted the ability to rest my head against something so it was between this one and the Markus. the Markus is also a nice chair (tried it out at an Ikea location) but the headrest was kind of a problem for me and my neck and head wasn't too comfortable, or the armrests. the armrests are able to come off of the Markus but you can see the screw holes on the side of the seat which isn't very pleasing to look at. all the cons of the Markus I found much improved in the Jarvfjallet! although the Markus has a tilt adjuster for the reclining feature I couldn't seem to get it to work, the possibility of that feature being broken, so I sadly didn't get to experience it in full effect, but with the Jarvfjallet I don't mind there not being a tilt adjuster. Overall I would definitely recommend this chair to those trying to improve their posture!5
Hard seat is a problemOioioioiThis chair seemed comfortable at the store. Once I got it assembled, the true test started. I sat on it for 15 min in front of my desk and my legs went numb. I tried on the next day and the same thing happened. I went back to my old chair and it felt better. My take on this chair: The back is fine but the seat is too hard for circulation. Ultimately, comfort is a personal thing. Unfortunately you won’t know until you’ve sat on it for 30min or more. My chair is almost never used; I hope I can return it now that it’s assembled and the box is tossed. This is really not working for me.1
Excellent Office / Gaming ChairmadhubAwesome chair with nice built quality. Good value for the money. The best feature on this and also similarly styled Markus chair is the ability to lock the back at an angle. I did not find the multiple position back lock feature even on very expensive chairs. I owned a Markus as well and think this one is better for me because of the available adjustments with lumbar support and the head rest. Seat cushion is on the firmer side but is comfortable. I have the Glose Black version without armrests. The seat pan depth adjustment is a bit quirky compared to what you find on other office chairs but works fine. Height adjustment is adequate for me. The flat back gives you a feeling of openness unlike other ergonomic chairs, which curve around your shoulders. Definitely recommended.5
Very Good Lower Back Supportvara svenskaJust got my chair one day ago, but can already tell how different I feel compared to my old puffy chair and how much I was slumping in it. The seat is very firm and the shape of the back curves to my spine helping me sit more upright and feels very supported. The middle support piece moves up and down so you can find just the right spot for your back. I really enjoy how much it rocks backwards too. It is an expensive one, but my home office instantly looks more elegant and I want to sit at my desk more, so I believe it was money well spent.5
Very comfortable chairCompradorabatataAmazing, it took me 15 minutes to put it together, it is beautiful and one of the most comfortable chairs I had used. I though it was a little pricier, but I am satisfied with the price I paid, it is worthwhile.5
Beautiful, ergonomic and modernCM541I work from home and sit in this chair all day. It’s designed extremely well as it is comfortable and also beautiful. The price is pretty expensive but if you are looking for a good chair investment I would recommend this one5
