I like it. worth itLeonYoungGood stuff, only concern is that there is no ground support in the middle of the bed bottom.4
Would not buy againMauramullBought this bed two years ago, only slept on it for one summer and the bed frame broke. tried to repair myself only for it to break a couple of weeks later. Very disappointed.1
Love this bednatarie88I'm not sure why everyone is giving this bed such a bad review, I've had mine for 5 years now and it's great and sturdy!5
Looks nice, lasting quality is questionable.Ariley2020I bought this back in 2017 and it's now 2020 and the base board is detaching from the right leg of the bed. If you do purchase this I recommend putting it together with wood glue as an extra safeguard. It looks nice and does the job I just wish it didn't fall apart so easily, not sure if it will survive a move. I think from now on I'm going to buy metal bed frames from IKEA. I've always had luck with those.2
The bed frame brokeanandiyI used a king size bed frame which broke without any warning after 4 years of normal use. I don't think it is safe since me and my spouse weight less than 350lbs together. The based of the frame that attaches to one of the legs is what broke, just when I sat on the edge of the bed.1
Center beam brokeCaitmccThe center support beam broke the other night while we were watching TV. The beam is bent and tore the wood it was screwed into off with it. My husband and I weigh under 350 pounds combined, so there was no unreasonable strain on the bed. I sent an email to Ikea to report the break and they responded that I needed to bring the broken bed and my receipt to the store so it can be evaluated by a customer service worker. It seems this is a common break on the bed, according to the other reviews. The bed should be recalled before it collapses and someone gets hurt or killed.1
Footboard issuesJenxyzzI purchased this bed frame in king size a little over 2 years ago. The bed itself has always made noises when anyone lays on it-something the store model didn’t expose when we were shopping. About 6 months ago the footboard completely broke apart where the wood screw bits attach and now it won’t stay supported without additional 2x4 My husband cut. This bed was a poor investment and has left our family skeptical about purchasing any other furniture from IKEA that you sit or lay on.1
Great frame!KdheringtonWe bought this bed a little over 4 years ago and it’s held up nicely. We have 4 young kids so a lot of “no jumping on the bed” and “stop climbing up the footboard” but it’s still nice and sturdy.5
DO NOT BUY — AVOID THIS SHODDY/DANGEROUS BEDDanmusicmanThis bed is garbage. Similar to others, the headboard has detached from the rest of the bed & the headboard anchor bolt is stripped and pulling out so the bed frame bolt cannot keep the frame secured to the headboard. I’m just waiting for the day when it completely detaches (probably in the middle of the night when I’m sound asleep, I hope I don’t get hurt). The Lonset slats are also horrible. I am not a large person and the white plastic inserts where the slats go in are completely squashed, rendering my 4 year old IKEA mattress very uncomfortable with the multiple sagging that has been created. The entirety of this bed is garbage. I have never had back pain in my life until sleeping on this bed. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS BED.2
It broke on me.....Wms77I bought this bed in 3/2017. Lasted less than 3 years. Bed started to break near the headboard. So disappointed2
Broken footboardMathieu313We bought this a little over a year ago and have had constant problems with the footboard. It had loosened after the first month so we tightened the bolts. Now it has completely fallen apart to the point that the bed now feels unsafe to use. This is the first IKEA product I have ever had such a big problem with.1
Fell apart in the middle of the nightSims1108Our bed looks gorgeous but during our sleep in just completely fell apart from the footboard all the way to the middle. We are now sleeping on the couches1
Squeaks and not stableeightgrandGot this frame about a year ago. Squeaks a lot since day one. I tried tightening everything but no luck. Overall a flimsy bed.1
Dangerous foot boardThe urban earthRegretting buying this bed, normally a fan of Ikea but this one is a sure fail. Not wanting to use it anymore, not sure what to do.1
KhamrieI’ve had my hemnes frame for close to 3 years now, it has honestly held up great. I put it together myself and as long as you follow the directions it is not that difficult but it’s a whole bed frame so expect to put a little work. I even took it apart and resembled it when I moved a few months back and it’s still going super strong. I see some people haven’t had as much luck but I could honestly keep this bed frame for another 10 years if I wanted.5
Look greatBas63I bought this bed frame a month ago. I really love it. The assembly instructions were very clear, but you need two people to do it. It is sturdy, maybe the people who complain didn’t follow instructions very well.5
Great...until it breaks!Jen2148I loved our Hemnes queen sized bed until the foot board just weirdly cracked and began to totally separate into pieces! What the heck? I take care of my furniture and don’t abuse it. I really don’t understand how this breakage even happened. Our now-disassembled bed sits in a pile on the side of our bedroom while my husband and I sleep on a mattress on the floor like a couple of college students now. Really lame. Ugh—we planned our whole bedroom and bought everything at the same time to create a look we liked. The bed shouldn’t just break into pieces after only 5 years!1
Foot-board collapsedHurtbybadHemnesfootboardThe one piece of the bed that comes pre-assembled is the foot-board. I was lying in bed and foot-board collapsed causing the mattress slats and matress with me on it to fall through the frame. There is nothing holding the foot-board together but tongue and groove slats and dowels. No glue, no screws, not bolts.. . The dowels on one side sheared off. Very poor design. This bed was only a couple years old. Not happy about needing to go buy another bed.1
One of the worst productSenthil NathanThis is one of the worst bed I ever had in my lifetime, I bought this as used frame 1+ year now. From the day one it started giving lot of sound. And the foot board was breaking apart from the frame. The frame is completely unstable. This is one of the worst design. After using this, all of us in my family got neck pain. I strongly don't recommend this product. I have lost the bill and its more than 1+ years, I was trying to reach the customer care UScustomercare259@ikea.com to get back the money, but they are asking me to take the frame to store and check. I don't want to pay for the truck, get the frame all the way to IKEA store and then they finally reject for refund. So have decided to throw this frame away. Please be aware !!!1
Sturdy bedSrtaChristineI'm surprised to see how many negative reviews there are. I bought the queen size bed frame a few years ago and it has held up through two moves. I felt it was easy it assemble and didn't have any trouble with the supports.5
