Lasting beauty with wood from more sustainable sources. A traditional look in a warm finish combined with modern functionality like quiet, smooth-running drawers. Psst! Remember to anchor it to a wall.
Made of solid wood, which is a durable and warm natural material.
Smooth running drawers with pull-out stop.
Of course your home should be a safe place for the entire family. That’s why hardware is included so that you can attach the chest of drawers to the wall.
If you want to organize inside, you can complement with SVIRA box, set of 3.
This high chest gives you plenty of storage without taking up too much room.

Spendy but niceGailBought this complete set. Satisfied overall, but the price was a little high. Everything looks nice, but there were several return trips due to broken pieces. Additionally, a few of the drawers don’t sit right (fixed the best we could) and we had to shim this piece due to it rattling when we walked by it. None of this was major, but it is frustrating given the price point.4
Great product. Challenging to assemble.YolandaGreat product. Challenging to assemble.4
Bedroom replacementAMANAThis is a very nice piece of furniture, it replaced my old dresser. I used task rabbit to assemble it, many pieces. The draws a soft shut. Lots of room in the draws that are also pre-lined.5
Worst quality I've ever seen in 32 years of lifeTROY S.I grew up assembling lower quality items for dorms, etc. Mainly Sauder. I spent the 320 dollars for this thinking it might be something halfway decent. Well, I was wrong. There's a piece missing on the front and it had Grey putty covering it up... wow. Then once I spent two hours putting it together I found out that the drawers are horribly unsmooth and basically stick shut. No wonder they have issues with tipping over, you almost have to tip it over just to open a drawer. Overall just complete junk. Steer clear for sure. The cheaper items actually are better quality somehow as we bought 4 total items and this was by far the worst...1
Great Dresser!KRISTINAThis dresser is great, especially for the price. It takes some time to assemble but was easy with clear directions. It looks great in the space and the finishes seem durable. The only improvement I could recommend is soft close drawer slides.5
Quality control is slipping :(Ian C.I bought a white Hemnes 4 years ago (for $100 less!) and all the drawers worked perfectly (and still do). However, this Hemnes has fit and finish problems. The drawer rollers rub against sides and don't close smoothly. Also, the actual gray is significantly darker than the photos imply.2

A Difficult Assembly: Pull Up the Computer InstructionsJAMESMost importantly, the final product looks great, as expected from the show room. But after decades of putting together dozens of IKEA pieces, this one was the most difficult.
It is too easy to connect the wrong pieces together, from the chest to the drawers. To save paper, each major instruction is reduced to half a page or less. It is really hard to see which fastener goes where, and which board connects to another.
Ultimately, the solution was to pull the PDF directions off the IKEA website and blow them up to truly understand how the pieces fit before proceeding.
Took me nearly eight hours to assemble. As usual with most IKEA furniture, the next Hemnes chest will take half that long.3
GREAT PRODUCT!NormanWell designed. Lots of storage. I like the the fact that the main parts are solid pine! Took an afternoon to put together and works really well.5
Easy to put together, fixAnthonyEasy to put together, fix and finish was perfect.5
Nice dresserDonetaHad to wait quite a while for this to come back in stock, but it was worth the wait. I bought this for my spare bedroom and love the way it looks and the amount of drawer space. Nice quality for the money!5
Hemnes chest of drawersRAJGreat solid piece. Took our family of four around two hours to build. It’s not hard to build. Put it in my guest room and it’s working well.5
Awesome and spaciousCassidy B.Worth the money! I assembled it mostly by myself and it took a couple hours. I found that once you get the hang of how the drawers assemble it goes by much quicker. I also purchased IKEA’s small drill and what a major help it was! I will definitely be looking into more Hemnes pieces in the future. Also- shoutout to the wonderful marketplace associate Sal who was very kind to a (very obviously) new furniture shopper. I appreciated his kindness and patience while helping me in store.5
Large DrawersEMILYWe are very happy with the large size drawers. This fits all my husband's clothes with room to spare. The build process took us a couple hours, but it came together nicely in the end. I would purchase another one of these if we needed another dresser.5
Amazing!JenThe fact that it's real wood, has lined drawers, matte black knobs and is heavy/sturdy...10 stars!5
MissalignmentSara R.I have built a lot of IKEA furniture, this is by far the worst piece ever. There were several miss aligned holes, holes for wood pegs that were much too large and bolts that did not "connect": or stay in the board. I have built other Hemnes pieces and did not experience these issues. This took longer to build than most of my IKEA kitchen. The wood is very soft and dents easily. The final product is very large. Not worth the trouble.2
Nice dresserCHUCKLove it. Very well made and stylish5
Nice pieceTimothyI am currently very pleased with the product which met our need. Looks great and was relatively inexpensive.5

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.
Forests are critical for life on earth
Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.
100% wood from more sustainable sources
At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.
IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030
As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.
We accomplish more by working together
For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.
What is solid wood?
Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful, renewable and recyclable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood. This way, every tree is put to good use that little extra.
