Lovely, simple, elegantAngelaI purchased these to upgrade the bathroom lighting in a mountain cabin. They were easy to install and I am especially appreciative of the screw on shade (as opposed to set screw) design.5
Great secondary source of lightingJohn450 lumens x 2 for the side by side bathroom mirror scenario as shown in one of the pictures isn't enough light on its own. you can see it (with hindsight haha) that the yellow light on the tile is minimal verses the white lighting from above (outside the view of the camera). what i'm saying is, it looks good, but don't get rid of your ceiling light and then have to put it back in. Don't forget it does not come with screws to mount. One of mine came with some blemishes/scratches on the housing but it's been too long since order and too late in the project to return. Ours are mounted bulb down (orientation had minimal change on room brightness).3
Wall Mount Screw Holes Are Diagonal, Not ChangeableNikolaiThe screw holes in the wall mount (which fasten this lamp to the light box) are in diagonal corners: northeast, northwest, southwest, and southeast, whereas most light boxes have two screw holes: north and south. The wall mount cannot be rotated, which means the only way to install this lamp is at an angle, NOT up or down like it's shown here. Unless you have an X-shaped screw pattern in your light box, this light will tilt sideways. I wish IKEA would have standard (or at least adaptable!) wall plates so you don't end up selling customers a lopsided light. This product was shipped to me, and the nearest IKEA is 50 miles away in another state. So I can't even return it, I just have to eat the cost of a poorly designed product. This is very aggravating!1
Can't adjust product to electric boxJamesProduct looks good, but I had to return it to store. The screw positions on this product's mounting bracket are at the 3 and 9 oclock, and can't be adjusted. The screw holes in the electric box installed inside my wall are at the 11 and 5 positions.2

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
