Product details

3-year warranty. Read about the terms in the warranty brochure.

The workstation is extra comfortable to work at, because the contoured table top allows you to sit close and supports your wrists and forearms.

Keep your coffee, beverage or snacks nearby in the cut-out cup holders on either side of the table top. The cup holders are made of plastic that is approved for use with food.

Hang the small shelves inside or outside the side panels, depending on your needs.

You can fit a 32" computer monitor or TV by removing the shelf above the table top.

The high side panels help block sunlight and prevent distracting glare on your computer monitor.

No Monitor ArmsSabeen S.The desk is great to sit on, love the cut out so you can tuck into it. I use the shelves on the legs as fancy leg rests to lounge. However, when you do want to be ergonomic, you need monitor arms and you cannot C-Clamp arms to this. the Monitor shelf is not attached in anyway. It's cheaply made. A few screws and slightly different design would've helped a lot. Also the hooks up top are behind the monitor instead of over to the side. So they are uncomfortable to reach. The cup holders are tiny and do not hold any cup. Why would anyone throw food in there (as they are supposedly intended) when they don't come out to wash. The metal up top warps, at least it does in the store displays, hasn't happend yet to my shelves.3
Great DeskSTEFANIE B.We bought the black for our office/guest room. It works out really well. Fits both of our 27 inch monitors as well. We ended up putting the PC on the top shelf and it looks great. The only reason I took away a star is because of that notch in the front. If you are a larger build it's not so bad but I'm a bit thinner and it makes it so I can't rest my arms and makes the desk a bit uncomfortable for me to use. If it didn't have that I would have bought another one in white for my office.4

Good desk, but the diagrams aren’t good enough and we have 30 yrs + experienced IKEA “builders”Kim S.My husband and I have put together all types of IKEA furniture. THIS was the toughest. Don't build it on the floor….and you definitely need two people. As soon as you can stand it up, do so: The build is easy then. The black anti glare side panels clip in easily along with the support shelf bracket clips in the same slots on the uprights. Trust me on this. I have read online chats where people cant figure out where to put the metal clips. I wish IKEA would spend just a little bit of time labeling up/down and left/ right and adding just a little text to their insidious instructions. They would save their customers so much aggravation. This took us 2 hrs to build ( no breaks ). We bought for the kiddo’s 10th Birthday, along with a very cool gaming chair. Our son picked it out on a trip to IKEA, but it was a complete surprise. He is thrilled. Looks really good with his PS5. I think IKEA could offer a larger version of this desk for bigger monitors and/or triple monitor format.4
My partner loves itRonNot from Wobbletown good sturdy desk with lots of room4
Brought it from our sonBilly R.Brought it from our son and he loves it.5
Awesome DeskAna C.The desk is definitely heavy, but in a way that makes it feel very well built. I do appreciate the availability of routing for cable management. I would love to know where/what those cubes are that are mounted about the desk in one of the example pictures!!5

Love this deskAlissaGreat desk, took about 2 hours to put together with a little help. My only complaint it that you have to use the outside shelves to keep the side panels from popping off, which I now use those to put some display items that are easy to move.4
FreddeSUSANIt is a great desk. Love the white color.5
Sturdy and Spacious!Olivia H.I've been looking for the perfect computer desk for months, and this one is exactly what I was looking for! I love the monitor shelf (fits both of my monitors perfectly) and that my actual PC isn't suffocating in a cabinet. The desk itself is super sturdy, and I love all the add-ons that you can get for it - the customization options are endless!5

Good desk, but not one-size-fits-allJenna B.I like all the features of this desk, and it's durability. You will need more than one person to move the boxes around before assembling (I even opened the boxes in my car and moved the pieces one-by-one with some help into the room where it would live), though I was able to assemble the whole thing by myself. The only drawback was that my computer case did not fit onto the sweet shelf under the desk - I could squeeze it in but wasn't able to access any buttons or my aux/USB ports. So I carefully removed one of the bottom shelves and just sat it on the floor to keep my PC off the carpet instead. If they had been just 2-3" shorter, I could have left it on.4
Great BuyAmberAll around solid desk, straight forward to put together though definitely need 2 people. Using as an art station, perfect for all the things I usually need out and the upper portion makes a great display space.5

FREDDE Gaming desk, black, 55 1/8/72 7/8x29 1/8x57 1/2 "

Getting gaming right

If you’re not in to computer gaming yourself, perhaps you have children who are. Across the world, gaming is booming, and naturally IKEA should provide furniture designed for it. So how do players set up a game station to create that immersive gaming experience, what do they need to feel comfortable and supported while playing? When creating FREDDE desk we needed to know. How we found out? We asked a gamer.

David Wahl is not only one of our designers. He’s a gamer too. Of course he got the task. “When I started playing video games you'd have to make sure your friends were free, and someone’s house was free, then make your way down the street, console in hand to play,” David says. “Now, it's just as likely that you're playing with people in Shanghai or Sydney or Stockholm.”

Creating a gaming command central

One of the advantages of gaming's move beyond the TV or the family computer is that gamers are free to make a space customized to enjoy each game's full potential. “A big part of gaming is the immersive experience,” David says. “So my first move when designing FREDDE was to make a cut out in the desktop so that you could be closer to the screen and have almost a command central sort of feel, while also getting support for your arms at the same time.”

Made to be customized

FREDDE fits speakers, a 32" screen, or a couple of smaller screens on a height adjustable shelf. David also had a personal wish. “I used to love playing driving simulator games where you would often use pedals, the same as a car,” he says. “I always found it annoying if you had cables or other things in the way when you were driving so I made sure to design the desk with an unobstructed space for pedals on FREDDE.”

A designer's proudest moment

David is proud to see the gaming community making the desk their own. “If you do an image search for FREDDE it's fantastic to see how people are adapting it to create their own perfect game space, which is exactly in tune with what I hoped.”

Function solution

Just right for you

You can customize FREDDE workstation in many different ways so it’s perfect for playing games, surfing or studying. You can adjust the height of the monitor shelf, hang the speaker shelves inside or outside the side panels, and keep your CPU safe and out of the way on a shelf under the workstation.
