Love the sofaStephanieFavorite sofa for people and dog naps. Highly recommend.5
Amazing BreaBeautiful, comfortable, easy assembly. Wish it came in pink!! But the light color is really pretty. Looking forward to adding the chaise piece to it later on :)5
Love this couchAmberI like a firmer couch and this one is definitely that but I love it. If you want to take a nap on it on your side you have to position yourself just right due to the firmness but back sleepers should have no problem. The gunnared beige (more white-grey) color is beautiful and cleans so easily. I spilt coffee in it the first week we had it and it came right out just rinsing the fabric. 5
Amazing for growing families.EmilyWe bought this couch in 2020 prior to having kids. Two kids and two dogs later I can tell you this couch breaks in beautifully and the covers hold up very well to washing. The best part is now that we’re rearranging to accommodate our bigger family, our sectional is now a beautiful couch with a chaise for our front room and a beautiful sleeper sofa for our guest/play room. Would recommend this sofa line every day of the week. 5
TerribleSaraThis is the worst couch I've ever owned. It's not comfortable at all, unless you enjoy sitting straight up with no depth to the seat. The headrests seem to make it even worse. Forget lying down on this couch, it's hard as a rock. We regret this purchase. 1
LOVE the FINNALA!!!Anonymous reviewerI took my time researching sofas. I went to IKEA multiple times. I could not be happier with this sofa. I have the three-seat sofa.
I have had this sofa well over a year now. It is so incredibly comfortable. I get compliments on it whenever guests come over.
The color I have is Tallmyra black/gray. Here is a little secret :) I ordered the covers to the headrest for like $10 to see what the different fabrics would look like in my living room and then I returned them in store. I kept the Tallmyra black/gray because it could be handy to have if I want to take it shopping with me to match textiles.
I love that if I want to change the look to a lighter color, I certainly can.
The only thing to note is that changing the washable covers is not as easy as the Ektorp sofa (that my friend has). I feel like I need a buddy to come over and help if it's time to wash the covers.
So far, I haven't washed them. The sofa looks great. I literally could not be happier. THANK YOU IKEA!!!5
most uncomfortable sofa i've ever used.Anonymous reviewermost uncomfortable sofa i've ever used.1
Rough coverKhaledThe sofa is good, but the cover we received is rough unlike the one we tried at the show room. I contacted customer service by phone and the only options they gave were either to buy an additional cover with the color we tried at store because it has a softer material, or to send back the cover and wait (with a bare sofa) for another cover to be delivered which will be in the end the same material if the color was the same.3
Best option if you have kids and petsAngelaI read as many reviews/blog posts on the Finnala (Vimle) that I could find. I originally wanted a C&B couch but couldn't justify the price when I have 2 young kids & a dog who are rough on furniture. I bought this couch 2 yrs ago in gunnared beige--the close-up fabric photo is very accurate. In my home (warm lighting) it reads as a creamy neutral shade. I've washed the covers several times & every single stain has come out (food, mud, paint, etc.). It still looks just like it did when I first assembled it. I bought different legs & no one can believe it's an Ikea couch. I have not had to wash the frame cover. Assembly was tedious but simple--did it myself in an afternoon (35 yo female). A handheld steamer helped get out fabric wrinkles. I do wish it was a single bench instead of 3 seat cushions. It is memory foam so it is firmer when you sit down, but still very comfortable IMO. Best part: my dog's fur (golden retriever) doesn't stick in the fabric! Just brushes or vacuums right off!5
It’s grey not beigeAnonymous reviewerI wish I could upload photos to show you the actual color of the Gunnared beige. I listened to a fellow reviewer and trusted that it was actually grey, and it is! Very light grey and it was exactly the color I was going for.
One of the most easiest things I’ve ever put together as well! So happy with my purchase, now I just need to ottoman to come in stock!5
Love the sofa, however, gunnared beige is not beigeJuliaI love the IKEA sofas. I have pets so I need covers that are easy to wash or replaced if absolutely needed. I bought the Finnala after IKEA discontinued Vimle and some aspects of the Kivik sofa that I loved (e.g. I would have bought the kivik if they had the option to remove the arm rests while still looking like a complete set). Similar to what others have mentioned, gunnared-beige is not really beige. It is more like a light gray with specs of blue tint. I wish they had another sofa cover option that looked more like the stock picture. Other than that, I love this sofa, very similar to my Vimle.4
Very uncomfortableElizabethIt was nice and comfortable on the display but at home it’s horrible!! It feels too hard, especially the back cushion it’s too hard. The fabric is very itchy and it stains so easily I do not recommend. We got both the love seat and sofa and I plan on returning it. We previously had the stocksund and we had it for 7 years I would love to see that come back.1
great qualityAnonymous reviewerwe’ve had this for the past 6 months. I have a 2 year old who is a messy eater. Stain come off it very easily, sometimes with just using water wipes no need to wash. I cleaned off raspberries with just water wipes with no stains left from the cream color. Taking off and putting on the covers are piece of cake. It’s very comfortable to sit on. Not too stiff and not too soft. Overall, great product 10/105
Nice and comfortable, love theMercedesNice and comfortable, love the color.5
Beige is…gray?AleishaThis is my first IKEA purchase and I’m pleased with how straightforward the assembly was. I did it alone. However, the color of the sofa is not beige like the name or images show. The close up image of the fabric is a much more accurate depiction of what the cushion covers look like. Gray with specks of blue. Other than that, I like how solid and long the sofa is (I’m 5’9” and have extra room when I lay down)4
So comfy and easy toMelissaSo comfy and easy to clean5
4.75 StarsAngelaLove the look and firmness of this sofa. It took me and my husband about 3 hours to put together. I don’t think I would have been able to do it myself. The only negative is the fabric, although beautiful, attracts dog hairs - they stick to the material.4
This is a FABULOUS sofa!Anonymous reviewerI bought the Gunnared Beige covers and put it together by myself. I'm 73 yrs old and a widow recovering from brain surgery. It was simple really. the fabric is soft and doesn't need to be ironed as there are minimal wrinkles that came out when I put on the covers. It doesn't look like an unmade bed like some slipcovered sofas do. It's very tailored and the covers are taut. This sofa is so comfortable and I am thrilled with my purchase. One tip is to remember that when you are assembling it, make sure the velcro strip on the base is facing forward so you don't have to take it apart and start over. I almost made that mistake. I love this sofa!5
Nope!CassieWe received half of the sofa and was told the rest is out of stock after I had to call to see where it was. Then we had to drive 2 hours to the closest IKEA to return what was shipped to us because pick up is not available for returns. We haven’t gotten the rest of our refund (over $900 because we bought 2 sofas) for the parts that are out of stock and it has been 26 days. No one can tell us why it is still processing, we are only told it should be done soon. It has been a complete nightmare trying to get our refund back. We will never be purchasing from IKEA again.1
