Beautiful modern classic!MothershippI ordered two Farlov chairs for my library/lounge area (formerly a combination lr/dr area). The assembly is not difficult but best with two people as recommended. We’ve purchased several Ikea pieces over the last two years without problems assembling them. I ordered them with the white covers as they are washable and I found out as a huge BONUS that they vacuum up easily. We gave two dogs (black and brown) who sit where we do and they live the new chairs as well. I use the vacuum attachment and the hair comes off so easily it is AMAZING!!!!! The product looks very high end and my family and friends love them, too. I purchased the sofa as well but I’m not as pleased with the seat. It’s not quite as comfortable as the chair but we’ll see how it holds up. Ikea you knocked this chair outta the park!!!5
Comfortable ChairsuhaveI bought 2 of these chairs for our TV room so they are used a lot. Very comfortable and great price. Easy to assemble. The fabric is my only complaint. I wish the fabric was nicer and more color options were offered. I bought the beige and it is very light and hard to keep clean. But overall I recommend this chair. Great value for the price.4
Nice looks, cheap materials.dstone20By IKEA standards $400 is a lot for a chair. Granted this is a large chair. Still, I expected a bit better build quality at that price point. The foam upholstery under the slip covers tears very easy, its like tissue paper. Underneath is plywood, particle board and plywood. On the plus side, it is comfortable and it does look very nice once assembled. Bottom line, I would not buy it again for $400. If it where $100 cheaper, I probably would. For anyone having trouble assembling these, I have a few tips. Do not fully tighten up the base and back pieces in the first step. Just make sure they are aligned properly, and then snug them up a few turns. Then when installing the keyhole bolts in the arms (the bolts that slide into the keyhole slots), do not fully tighten those either. Screw them down hand tight, and then a couple turns with the wrench. Just so that they are snug. If you tighten those bolts down fully, then the arms are very hard to slide into the keyhole slots and very hard to align the bottom bolts. Slide one of the arms into it's keyhole slot, then turn the chair on its side and adjust the arm to line of the 3 bolts on the base. Also make sure it is aligned with the base and back at this time. This should be fairly easy since the keyhole bolt is still loose allowing it to move easier. Once everything is aligned, tighten the 3 bolts on the base down. Do the same thing for the other arm, then go back and tighten the base to backrest bolts fully. Finally, with the chair on its side or back, reach your hand up into the arms from the bottom of the chair, and finish tightening the keyhole bolts on both sides.3
IKEA has stepped up its game with FarlovAnonymous2xI purchased the armchair and ottoman with the djuprap yellow-beige velvet covers. The djuprap covers lend the curved lines of the Farlov series luxury but not without some distressed features that are not mentioned in the description. Go to the store and see the djuprap cover on the ottoman, in particular, before you buy. For me, I'll probably keep the covers despite what I consider textile defects because they are so comfortable, beautiful, even glamorous in the best of ways. Kudos to Francis Cayouette, designer of this series.4
Screws do not line up or go in easily but PRETTY!Ballerina girlFirst off the chair is beautiful and I’ll be keeping it but it’s awkwardly tall. So I ordered 4” legs. Several screws were impossible to get in. They would just spin and go no where. It was the same way on both chairs and the Farlov sofa I purchased. Very frustrating because it looks like it should be the easiest assembly ever by IKEA standards so I was excited!! We added our own wood screws. With new legs, additional wood screws, the chair looks fantastic!! Oversized and comfortable! We went for the white slipcover and it’s beautiful!4
Favorite chairddPDXI bought this chair four months ago, along with the loveseat and ottoman. I love all the pieces, but this chair has become my favorite seat. It is comfy, and I use the ottoman with it. The seat is quite deep for me (I'm 5'3) so I've added a euro pillow for back support. The fabric cover is a beautiful sturdy, textured off-white. Easy assembly. The seat is quite firm - not a sink-in sort of feel. See also my Farlov loveseat review. Love, love, love!5
