Good cabinetLeonaGreat for the bathroom5
Do not recommendBeverly S.As many of the reviews said, poorly constructed and difficult to put together. Not worth the money. There are no holes for the legs (unless mine is defective) so need to use a drill tomorrow.1
Great little storage!Ali D.Not sure about the other reviews referencing difficulty of assembly, but we found it easy to put together and it has held up for over a year. Definitely planning to get more -- love the addition of the legs!5
Worst IKEA itemI’ve bought so many items from IKEA … I’m a Huge fan of IKEA and this is the very first time that I’m disappointed by the quality of the cabinet, the doors do not lined up , I don’t understand why. I tried everything !1
Poorly builtIt's impossible to get the doors to line up. The locking mechanism and the hinges are not level. Returning this1
Sleek looking functional cabinet. EasyKristelSleek looking functional cabinet. Easy to assemble.5
Loved it...!!!suphavadeeGood quality....made my room looks nice!!!!4
avoid any pre-mitred corner line of goodsJ m.The Eket line is fundamentally flawed. 1. Mitred corners feature a plastics round connector fitting into a keyhole slot routed into the EDGE OF THE PARTICLEBOARD. THIS WILL FAIL. Never seen this faulty assembly method in a long career in cabinet shops. 2. ERRONEOUS MILLING. All four sides are fully dadoed (slotted) for the back and the fourth side CANNOT BE ASSEMBLED as the not-yet-seated back edge pushed the mitre apart. Any cabinetmaker knows to rabbet the bottom side not dado, so you can slide the back in! THE BACK HAD TO BE TRIMMED AND NO LONGER STAYED IN PLACE without supplemental supports. 3. Nonadjustable top and bottom hinge pivots BIND DOORS ON FACE and FAIL TO OPEN FULLY unlike european cup hinges. Hard to use cabinet. AVOID THIS LINE. Other lines featuring right-angle assembly went together better and are stronger. 4. No instructions provided in the kit. A long time figuring out how all the little plastic doodads go together.1
Just avoid the EKET lineSteve B.Hard to get everything lined up. The back panel was way to hard to get to stay in while putting the bottom panel in. we purchased several other pieces from other lines and they were much better to build and feel stronger.2
Better than ExpectedEgheThe instructions for the door were confusing but finally got it done. I thought the doors hold with a magnet but they push and pop open. Even better and gives this unit a sleeker look. Love it!5

Easy to assemble and sturdy.DeniseEasy to assemble and sturdy. We added the feet and love the height.5
Works for me!ellenI needed something to put my tv on and one Eket worked! Then I moved and needed storage along a wall, so the first Eket got a twin...then there was room for a single and I needed someplace to set my record player and albums...then one more joined the family for next to the desk. I'm now a happy Eket mom of 5!5
Stylish Console/Cabinet, but NO structural integrityKevin P.I’ve come to love and appreciate IKEA’s furniture. After building this console, I will probably stick to small household items and goods and stop buying large pieces of furniture from IKEA. Before I buy large pieces of furniture, I always make so to check out reviews. The reviews for this product wasn’t that great, however I really loved the look of this piece. I made sure to watch some videos on building this piece and prepare myself to tackle this build. I made sure to be extra careful and precise with each step. The final piece was stylish, yet crooked and not flush. Step away from this product if you’re a perfectionist and want your pieces of IKEA furniture to be level and perfect. However, this product would probably not last too long as you use it and add your household items into the console itself. It took a lot of force and precision building this piece. Overall, it’s a beautiful piece, but not a good final product.2
Looks great in my office.BruceLooks great in my office.5
Unexpectedly hard to assemble. AXianUnexpectedly hard to assemble. A bit pricy for being a particleboard product. Info page didn't provide interior dimensions. Other than these, I love it.4
FrustratedMelissa C.So frustrated with the construction of this cabinet. Purchased 2, each box had different instruction booklet. Doors on both are uneven and difficult to hang. After an hour of frustration have decided to return to store. So sad because it exactly what we wanted size and look wise.2
Super hard to assembleiliaSuper hard to assemble3
Would not buy againHannah D.So I’m super disappointed with this buy. We bought 4 to store things in our living room. One came out perfect, and the other three have uneven doors. I thought I would just let it slide, as returning is a big hassle. I have a 2 year old and he can’t just hang while I drive all the way to Atlanta. Over the last year, there has been extra wear on the cabinets because the doors aren’t lined up. It’s really disappointing as we spent $500, plus $50 shipping. I would not purchase this again or recommend it.1
Ok for the moneyDAMIANHinge system is not very user friendly, hard to install… Otherwise it’s a nice cabinet. However, all the furniture made now seems much cheaper to what it was few years back. I guess everyone is trying to save a penny here and there.4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
