Product details

A simple unit can be enough storage for a limited space or the foundation for a larger storage solution if your needs change.

You can create your own unique solution by freely combining cabinets of different sizes, with or without doors and drawers.

You can choose to place the cabinet on the floor or mount it on the wall to free up floor space.

The drawers have integrated push-openers, so you don’t need knobs or handles and can open the drawer with just a light push.

Not easy to assembleSamanthaUnit was very difficult to assemble. I ended up returning because the drawers were scrapping and didn’t fit smooth.1
Nice and spacious drawerROSANDRANice and spacious drawer4
Nice little 2-Drawer UnitAdrianI combine these with the EKEt cubes with drawers. They're easy to assemble, easy to use, look great.4
Buy drawers somewhere else!Dara C.Only buy these drawers, or anything else in the EKET series if you have no will to live. These are the most poorly-constructed pieces of furniture I’ve ever encountered. I’ve assembled shelves & drawers & greenhouses & headboards… I’ve never seen anything like the poor design of these. They all require you to connect 3 sides of the shelf/drawer, then slide a flimsy backing piece into a recessed groove in the sides. Logic would say, the final piece must feature a recessed slot, to accommodate the sides, & be nailed on, like most furniture, right? Nope. The final piece has protruding knobs that you have to slide into holes in the other panels’ sides. Against the direction of the backing. But how, you might think, if the back of the piece is already attached, can I slide the final side on? Exactly. It doesn’t work, & if you make it work, you’re left with a backing piece just sliding around unsecured. Who approved this design? Why would anyone think this makes sense? Save yourself.2
Difficult to assemble and mount.Ryan R.The only way the last side could be attached was to cut the corners off of the backing. This did not hurt the aesthetic. It was just a pain. I was unaware that I needed to purchase a separate kit to mount this to the wall. The mounting kit does not come with mounting screws and recommends a professional to pick out the screws and install for you. Overall, this was the most obnoxious piece of IKEA furniture that I have ever purchased.2
Easier to assemble than I expectedPaulI was worried about assembling sliding drawers, but it was much easier than I expected.5
Hard to assembleCynthiaThe video shows a woman easily snapping this item together. Not that simple! It is hard to connect the pieces and I’ve had to use a hammer and some cardboard to whack it into place.3
I love it, fits perfectlySzilviaI love it, fits perfectly in the bottom of the closet5
Nice elegant designJulieAdded it to my office.5
No way to secure the drawers?Doug R.Overall, it is fairly easy to assemble, with the exception of how to secure the drawers to the sliding rails. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do this, or if it is even possible. In this regard, the "instructions" are worthless.3
Perfect Fit.MARTINIt fits perfect in the room I redesigned. I wish I could show you some pictures.5

What a cool pieceFAYForm fit and function. We mounted this on the wall with a smaller eket 2 drawer unit along with a mirror for my daughter's dressing table. Holds all her cosmetics. Looks great and didn't take up a lot of space. The one complaint is regarding the instructions for mounting it to the wall. It wasn't clear that it needed 3 anchors. The way it was drawn it looked like 3 was optional, but 2 necessary. It started to pull out of the wall the 1st day. I took it down, repaired the wall then secured it with 4 anchors.5
Tough build; ok qualityCATHERINEThis had a different build mechanism than I've ever seen before, where you have to align the corners diagonally. Three went smoothly but one was really difficult. Not a satisfying build. Results are ok.3
Eket 2 drawers storageRoseThe piece fits well for where I wanted and the grey color is perfect. However I found the directions to assemble the piece confusing. The drawers spring open when you touch the drawers b so placing those pieces n correctly was challenging. It took longer than we anticipated but once done it looks and works great.3
The sliding mechanism was unevenERNESTOThe sliding mechanism was uneven so the drawers are crooked and rub on each other when opening and closing.3

Product works great but came with a broken partJasonThe piece is easy to construct and looks sleek and sturdy. However I bought two sets of drawers and one came with a broken joinery piece. Called to have the piece replaced and still haven’t received it, it’s been almost a month...3
NightstandMeiIt’s just a perfect nightstand.5
Works and looks good. AlthoughMelissaWorks and looks good. Although it’s a bit of a miracle it actually works because of the troubles I had putting the final pieces together.3

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

New technologies, new hobbies, a new family member ... both small and large changes affect life and people's needs at home, especially when it comes to all the things that we need space for. Petra Kammari Enarsson is a product developer at IKEA and often visits the homes of customers to experience their everyday living and how good storage can make life at home a little easier. She remembers a family in Copenhagen which expanded every other weekend with the daughter from a previous relationship. ”She didn't have her own room, but the family had a solution where she had a loft bed in the living room and her private things were in a chest on the floor”. Petra thinks it's a good example of how more and more people are living in small spaces, and that a large part of everyday living takes places in the living room where we want things to be both practical and stylish.

Flexible furniture for new needs

Another obvious trend around the world is that many people move more often - just as Petra did when she was young. ”The problem is that a lot of storage furniture is so inflexible – upon moving or new needs arising, they can't be adapted. This means storage isn't optimal and it's difficult to keep track of all your things”. These insights inspired Petra and her colleagues to start looking at a more flexible and personal storage solution – something that can easily be updated so that people don't have to buy new furniture as soon as something in life changes. Petra then started to think about those fishing boxes she had when she was young and which were so easy to stack and move as needed. What if you could make a piece of furniture which consists of various smart modules that can be easily moved around, removed and added to?

Building with blocks

Petra and her team started by ordering cardboard boxes in various sizes. They took the boxes to different room environments where they moved them around like building blocks – stacking and combining them in various ways. The team also researched detailed facts about storage: on average, how many magazines do we have at home? What’s the ideal height for people to put down their mobile phones? ”Many of us put keys, telephones or bags in a specific place when we come home. We usually do it automatically, without thinking about it”, says Petra. The height that seems to suit most people is 31½", so a shelf at that height was a given in the mix of shelves, drawers and cabinets in different colors and styles that eventually became the EKET storage series. ”I'm so pleased that we chose to prioritize playfulness and freedom of choice with all the colors and sizes of EKET”, says Petra, who's looking forward to visiting more homes. ”I think that the customers will find lots of exciting combinations that we haven't even thought of!”.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
