Amazing display unitBradley W.I finally have my detolfs to display my figures and I couldn’t be more happy! It’s a bit fragile when you start to put to together but it gets solid as you go5
Love it!Lisa T.Went together well, nice and sturdy, love the way my items show off well and not seeing a bunch of wood or metal5
Great shelfRicardo D.Love it fits my Star Wars helmet’s perfect great shelf planning to buy another soon5
Parts and instruction were missingSweta G.It was the worst product to assemble. Parts were missing no instruction manual and the glasses didn’t align.1

Helmet Collecting DisplayErnesto H.So far I own 8x DETOLF Glass-door cabinets with Mittled dimmable lights connected to a TRÅDFRI 8 port driver since it is expandable in the future powered by a ANSLUTA Power cord purchased separately.
I'm controlling them all via the Dirigera Hub which works with the Home Smart Lighting application they offer free to wirelessly control the automated scenes I've created. In addition I purchased a TRÅDFRI Wireless hand held Dimmer as well.
These glass displays were simple to put together sturdy and durable and the wireless lighting configuration was plug and play. Very happy with my setup looking to add more in the future !
Wish I could share a pic looks awesome5
Wonderful shelfKellyI bought this shelf after I'd seen it in the store. It was very easy to put together and is perfect for my space. It's a great size and seems well made. I really love my purchase.5
It's a classicStephanieThe units looks and aesthetics easily get 5 stars. The price has doubled for some reason over the last year which makes this no longer an instant recommendation, but there's still nothing like it at this price point for a nice clean look to display your collectibles. However, not everything is perfect and why I deduct a star.
Shelves are non-adjustable. You can leave them out but you can't adjust the heights unless you take a chance with an after market product.
I've assembled well over 30 IKEA products and so far this is the most difficult and painful to put together. First of all it requires 2 people, with no way to get around that. Also glass is delicate and heavy so be extra careful when handling. You need a large work space to lay everything out. Wearing work gloves or even disposable surgical type gloves add extra grip and reduce fingerprints.
I have 4 of these, 1 is from the early 2000s, 3 are from 2023. At some point they did tweak very slightly the size of holes and type of brackets used to put these together. Parts are mostly compatible, but not totally the same. The new plastic strips they use to hold the 3 glass panels together are an absolute nightmare to use. The slots are thinner than the glass and are super rigid. It also requires you angling the glass to sort of wedge each panel into this very tight rigid plastic. The plastic strips are translucent but turn white from all the stress marks of sliding the glass in and out of the strips. Extremely difficult. Instructions give no details on how much to tighten the upper and lower screws holding the metal H frames together. This is key to not busting your glass and also ensuring the door fits okay. Finally, the door never closes right and constantly hits the lower portion of the base. I had 3 people look at it and we were all perplexed. It's all about finding the right balance of how tight the screws on the upper and lower door hinges and also the 4 top screws on the upper panel. Overall as simple as a design this is I'd say it takes about 2 hours to assemble each one, maybe longer if you aren't experienced.4
3rd cabinet...something has changedKeith M.I bought my 3rd cabinet over the period of a decade, and have never had a problem until now. What I’ve noticed is the wire frames have a silver plastic film on them, and it’s making the screw head (part 100600) unable to be screwed on, as the film is simply making the threading WAY too tight to go more than a couple of turns. I’ve even tried to remove the plastic film in the threading, but it’s incredibly difficult to do so.
My prior cabinets have always been great. This one has been an unpleasant experience, making the cabinet useless if I can’t assemble it properly. Never had this issue with my 2 previous cabinets from approximately 2 and 10 years ago. Typical that once they had the first very notable price increase in a long time that the result is a less effective product.3
Easier assembly than expectedMichael H.We bought this Detolf curio cabinet in Atlanta, and was worried about the glass breaking on the 2 hour drive back home. It survived the trip in our Honda CRV. It took about 3 hours of assembly time with 2 people, but we were being very careful and not trying to hurry. The only glitch we ran into was not positioning correctly the plastic connector between the back and side glass on one side. When the top would not go on correctly, we had to back out and redo that side piece. It is important that the connector clears the joints on both the bottom and top. It has to fit precisely between the two joints. Once we got that squared away, everything else fit perfectly. Our advise to you is to take your time, don't get in a hurry, check your fit with each step, and clean the outside glass before you bolt it to the wall. Watch assembly videos on the internet, as they can help.5

Great Display ShelfThomasEasy to assemble and quick!5
Using it as a greenhouse!ClaireGorgeous!! Relatively easy to assemble, even with the glass panes. I love this cabinet!!5
DO NOT BUY!Whitney D.I purchased this display case as it was perfect to showcase my perfumes. Well, today I experienced the worst thing ever. I opened the door to put a bottle back on the top shelf and it collapsed. I tried to put it back on its “track” and it dropped again this time causing the second shelf to collapse to the bottom and causing 2 of my precious bottles to shatter. IKEA this is UNACCEPTABLE!1
Great case for collectibles!KEVINMy son just asked for another one of these since he has more collectibles ... that makes 4! Our only issues are that the lights we bought with the first 3 are no longer available, and the price has almost doubled sine we bought the other 3!4
Defective b atchJAMESThis is the 3rd batch of detolf's I have ordered. I have had minor quality control issues in the past but was able to work around it. This time, the coating on the metal frames covers the threads and I am unable to attached the top- causing the door to fall out when you open it. Unusable. I have been filing/sanding but its difficult as this is not merely paint and I don't want to strip the threads. I will update my review depending on how customer service handles the issue.3
Spontaneous Combustion: IKEA, PLEASE!!!S O.My DETOLF Glass Display Case was as intended and I really liked it. It also lasted a while, until last night. The back glass panel exploded as soon as I walked into my room. IKEA, you’ve got to do better. How many of these reported cases will it take for action to be taken?
PS: To anyone thinking of purchasing one of these, please, for your safety, time, and money, DO NOT BUY THIS.2
