BILLY is a versatile bookcase that works just as good as a storage unit and is suitable to use in many different ways at home.

The shallow and adjustable shelves help you customize your BILLY and allow you to use it as you like – for storing everyday items, memorabilia or other things you collect.​

BILLY has a simple and timeless design that is easy to personalize by adding boxes, lighting and your favorite items.

This bookcase has a height extension unit, allowing you to make the most of the wall area.

Easy assembly JessicaWe only had ours for about a week (we lost everything due to Helene floods) so I can’t comment on the longevity of the piece. But they were very easy to assemble by ourselves and they were very nice looking. I just wish they came with a way to cover the holes for the shelves after they are placed 4

Assemble them yourself.JimThe Billy bookcases are fine. Not particularly pretty, but then they are bookcases! Assembly is not difficult, but strenuous with a lot of standing and bending. I opted for assembly on the order. That turned out to be nothing short of incompetent. The technician installed several shelves backwards ("raw wood" facing out) and insisted there were no other choice. Wrong. I had to disassemble two of the units to fix them. I don't ever anticipate buying bookcases again. But if I do, I will either assemble them myself or find an impoverished teenager.5

Love my BillyCatherineLove my New Billy Bookshelf, we turned it into a Diy built-in! It seamlessly blends in with the rest of the house. Plus, I know I have my own home library for all of my books. However, two of the shelves came without a finished edge.. So we had to spackle the shelfs edge to hide the wood. Also a little disappointed the billy doors don't shut flush there is a gap between the two doors. Other than that they are great!! I highly recommend researching the proper way to paint them… if you are planning on it.3

Great for a book loverAnonymous reviewerThis was an amazing product and is great for someone who loves books like myself. The only issue we had was that some of the materials on the back are a little flimsy and cracked really easily. That was my only big concern with them. Is that for the price? I feel like it should’ve been a little bit more sturdy in the back, but I would still buy these in a heartbeat again because my books look amazing on it and for the price you really can’t go wrong my dad was able to easily reinforce the back and fix the cracks mind you the back is just a piece of thicker cardboard like material .4

Sturdy and Beautiful!AllyI love how customizable the Billy bookcases are! They are easy to build and I was surprised at how sturdy they are. That being said, I was disappointed that they were advertised as being 93" tall when in reality they just send a height extension with a standard bookcase. I was excited to not have the seam of the extension, so that was a bit of a letdown, but they still look great. One of my bookcases is also about 0.25" higher on one side which makes it uneven with the shelf next to it. The delivery process was a nightmare, but I'd still highly recommend!4

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
