BÅTSKÄR outdoor kitchen combines the practical and robust functions of a professional restaurant kitchen with the neat lines and stylish details of a regular indoor kitchen.
The large cooking area allows you to fit generous portions for the whole family.
The cooking grate is durable and rustproof, as it is made of high-grade stainless steel.
The warming rack above the cooking area is perfect when you want to cook on lower heat or let the food rest and stay warm before serving.
Distribute charcoal or briquettes in the grill to create a hot zone for direct cooking or a cooler zone for heat retention – perfect when you want to grill food which has different cooking times.
The ventilation is easily adjusted with two nice-looking knobs on the front of the unit. A practical solution that also adds a design feature to your outdoor kitchen.
The built-in thermometer on the hood helps you check the temperature during grilling – without having to lift the hood.

Care
Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
Always wipe surfaces of stainless steel lengthwise for an even, shiny finish.
Wipe clean with a water dampened soft cloth and a mild non-abrasive dish detergent or soap, if necessary.
Do not use scouring-powder, steel wool, hard or sharp tools which can scratch the stainless steel surface.
Safety and compliance
Do not store heat-sensitive items on the shelf directly under the grill since the grill emits very high heat when it is in use.

Nice design, but unfortunately, not built to lastAmyThe unit looks great at first, but the stainless steel top started peeling within a month…even with a cover and gentle cleaning. After a lot of back-and-forth and several phone calls, IKEA offered a partial refund. I accepted it because I didn’t want to go through the hassle of dismantling and returning the whole unit. Still, the finish doesn’t hold up, and the appearance quickly deteriorates. Disappointing for the price.
Aesthetically Pleasing - Functionally LackingKateLove the way this grill looks! Hiding the ugly structure of a traditional grill makes it a visually appealing product. However, the paint coating is missing in corners of the lid, leading to immediate rusting upon exposure to water/air. Putting it together comes at the usual IKEA cost of not having any words accompanying the photo references, forcing a few re-dos here and there. The hinges on the doors are difficult to align perfectly and caused quite a bit of frustration to get adequate. Lack of adjustability of the grates up and down make this less than ideal for cooking anything more difficult than burgers and brats. The surface of the table scratches VERY easily.

With BÅTSKÄR outdoor kitchen, you can rinse, chop, fry, grill and mingle with your guests in the open air. Sure, if there’s a drizzle, you will have to go inside, but your kitchen will do just fine outside. We have made sure it can withstand not only water but also sun and wind.
“Many people have discovered how lovely it’s to cook outside but feel it’s hard to find an outdoor solution that is practical enough, but also durable and well-designed. We wanted to solve that with BÅTSKÄR,” says Gunilla Hansson, product developer.
Everything you expect from a kitchen
A place to gather around
For Gunilla and the team it was important to bring the aesthetic aspect outdoors. BÅTSKÄR has clean lines, a matte-grey finish and specially designed knobs and handles. “We didn’t want to only contribute to smooth and practical cooking, but also create a lovely environment with room for everyone to gather and enjoy new flavors and food experiences.” And maybe when we move outdoors, our shoulders go down and we become a little more free. The cooking suddenly feels like a pleasure, even on a Monday evening.

What is stainless steel?
Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.
