Finish doesn’t hold up after 2yrsAnnWe were really pleased at these and the system (and the slow-close hinges- no slamming!) but the finish didn’t hold up long. I followed the instructions they state on cleaning as I wanted it to last, but the finish coating wears through after a year or two. I had a four year old, so I followed the directions for cleaning exactly, but I think it would last 10+ years only with an extremely tidy household that doesn’t make them need wiping much. After 3-4 years, cleaning a little less frequently and the finish is very worn. The factory satin finish has been worn away and it’s matte/satin in some places and totally uneven. Still fine functionality and I’m hanging in until the boy gets older, but honestly I have been looking at replacing them going into their third year. Looked here for an easy swap, but I’d rather paint them than spend $100+/door front. Ikea kitchens don’t hold up to much for long. Next kitchen renovation, I’m going elsewhere. Love ikea though!
Fantastic cabinet doors MaiThe gray colored Bodbyn cabinetry is really nice to say the least. Our kitchen is spectacular thanks to Ikea. I just wish I could add photos.
These yellow horriblyKennethDo not purchase, they yellow after a few years and the beautiful cream white is no longer there. Ikea will not honor the warranty and says this is normal wear and tear.
they swell up and break downLaurawe really loved these and they looked so good for the first 3-4 years but then the edges started to deteriorate and swell and particle board below the veneer showing. Don't get them or keep the receipt to replace them after a few years.
Love everything about itFrankJust put in a new kitchen, twenty-two cabinets, endless drawers and baskets, and everything went swimmingly. I did all the assembly myself, but we had a great contractor do the actual installation. We’re so chuffed!
There was not a single piece or part missing, though two items were damaged during shipping whic IKEA replaced promptly with no questions asked. Due to supply chain issues, it took nine months for everything to arrive, but we paid only the first delivery fee, and all subsequent deliveries were included.
All-in-all, we couldn’t be happier.

What is fibreboard?
Fiberboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fiberboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
