This makes it ideal, for example, for slower cooking such as roasts and casseroles.Suitable for all types of cooktops, including induction cooktops.Steam collects on the inside of the lid and drips down from the knobs. In this way the food bastes itself, which gives a succulent and tasty result.Can also be used in the oven since it is made entirely of metal.Using the lid brings the contents of the pot to a boil faster, so that you can save time, energy and money while lowering your environmental impact.To season a cast iron pot/pan, rub all surfaces with oil. Then heat the pot/pan in the oven or on the cooktop to max. 300 °F for a minimum of one hour. Leave it to cool and wipe off excess oil.If corrosion or food stains arise, or if food burns and sticks, the pot/pan can be cleaned with steel wool or an abrasive sponge and then re-seasoned.Use a cooktop with the same or a smaller diameter to save energy.The pot/pan gets hot during use. Therefore, always use pot holders when moving it.Do not expose the pot/pan to great variations in temperature, e.g. by placing it directly on a hot cooktop.This product is pre-treated with vegetable soybean oil.Designer

"My idea with VARDAGEN was to make a classic cast iron pot that people can use year after year, and even pass on to the next generation. To give it the right retro style, I was inspired by 1950’s design. These types of pots are quite heavy, so I spent a lot of time on the handle design and placement to make them ergonomic. Another finesse is that you can hang the lid on the pot while cooking. This old-style pot will hopefully add to the enjoyment of many memorable meals!"
