Ratings and reviews

Scratches easily, water splashes out easilyKeithPrWe unboxed and used this sink for about a week while we were waiting for our counters to be cut and installed. Used along with a VIMMERN faucet, water would hit the bottom of the sink and create a fine spray or splash that would go all over our temporary countertop (and ourselves). It was very annoying. We also noticed unsightly scratches in the finish as soon as we started washing dishes. At the last minute, we decided to buy the cheapest, most standard single-basin sink and a basic (but nice-looking) faucet from Lowes. No more spray and no heavy/abnormal scratching, even after six months. The stuff from Ikea is sitting in our garage and I doubt we can get a refund because it was used for about a week and the packaging disappeared with the rest of the trash from our reno.1
SinkRy2020I do not recommend this sink, the stainless scratches very easily. My wife and I are really disappointed in it. Don’t get me wrong, it looks great....until you use it.1
Scratches instantly from platesJeffcanRight away after install, the sink was scratched. Feels flimsy due to the 20 gauge stainless used, but the scratching is the main issue. Our countertop installer (contracted by Ikea) commented on us recycling our old sink, and was shocked when we told him it was new. Ikea doesn't want to replace it because it lists in the instructions that hard utensils can scratch it, so we're getting a new sink and out the money for this one, but it's not worth installing it with the new counters. Buy elsewhere, this one is garbage.1
Scratches easilyHeather1990I got this sink as a recommendation from an IKEA kitchen expert, however I wish I read the reviews first. First it didn’t come with a template and we over cut the counter. Second it is full of scratches. We don’t ever put dishes in the sink because it just wrecks it. I love my new kitchen but completely disappointed with the sink1
Dobsco'When stainless steel is new, it is natural that the first scratches are visible. They become less visible over time as the material is used and gets a more matte tone.'- Straight from product review people. Does NOT have sound absorbing material on bottom. Charged extra for strainer and did not come with lid.2
Scraches and stains after 1 monthJustMSink looked great right after installation. Unfortunately scratches started appearing before our kitchen renos were done. After about 1 month there are also stains as well as lots of scratches (never have anything in the sink stored). Very disappointing as the kitchen counter was custom made concrete with an opening design specially for the sink. It will be hard to replace it. My last sink was more than 20 years old with no scratches.1
Can live with it.B_ranchYes it does scratch. Yes it does rust. But it is manageable. In time the scratches will blend naturally as IKEA mentions in the info page. It just rusts when you let steel utensils sit in the sink, so try to keep them on a dirty plate or bowl. It also helps that my sink is not under a window or a light, so the scratches/rust are not noticeable. I also bought a similar Blanco for the same price at Rona but the dimensions were a tad too large(My old sink was Blanco and we were satisfied since new in 2004). If I could do over again I would just get the Boholmen for $65. Did not install so not sure on that.2
Kitchen Nightmare - Please don"t buy this sinkAKhan99Purchased this part of my ikea kitchen this year in March. Got it installed in June and the sink is full of rusted dots. I wish i had known better and not listened to the ikea kitchen expert who just sold this piece of garbage that is now costing my over a $1000 to replace. My kitchen countertop are cut to this dimensions, sink is installed and plumbing is done all of which needs to be redone. I filed my case 3 weeks ago and have spent several hours on the phone line trying to get a hold of the resolution center, i still have no resolution as my case is thrown back and forth between your reps. I will never shop at ikea again and ensure that my friends, family and colleagues get to know about this including your worst customer service on phone. Please Ikea stop stressing out your customers financially and emotionally by selling this garbage.1
Stainful steelIkea is okThe total opposite of stainless steel. This sink will get scratched up and stained on first use. Simple clean design though. You get what you pay for! Cheap and cheerful.2
Norrsjon SinkTony321I've had this sink for about two weeks. It is a nice looking sink; however, as the other reviewer mentioned it scratches very easily. As far as I could find, Ikea doesn't sell sink grids. The closest fit I could find is the Kindred SS wire grid 14 5/8 x 25 1/4. And since the sink is stainless steel it does take some up keep to keep it shiny and spot free.3
Scratches and rust after a month of very light useKonstantin SWe purchased this sink as apart of whole kitchen renovation project in April and finally had it installed in June. New quarts counter top was cut to a sink specs (size of the opening) and sink installed. Well, the joy of having a new kitchen is darkened by the look of the sink. After a month of a very light use the sink is all scratched and covered in rust spots. We are so disappointed.1
Scratches within 2 daysRadaghastAll the other review tell the truth: the stainless steel is of shameful quality. It was installed 2 days ago and already has scratches on it, after putting a few plates in it. If only Ikea would offer a protective grid that fits this sink! It baffles the mind... STAY AWAY!!1
Such poor qualityArtemis68So I didn't have a chance to read any reviews before purchasing this product. I bought this sink over a year ago and it was just recently installed in our new kitchen. I've done one load of dishes, and what do I see when I drain the water RUST SPOTS!!! I wish I could attach a picture to show how bad it is. Like we aren't talking a couple spots, the bottom is covered in little spots and some quite larger stains. I'm so disappointed. I can see this sink will need to be replaced within months.1
1 round of dishes cleaned, 3 big scratchesjjjjjjccccccJust installed this sink, did one rack of dishes and looked at the sink and its was already scratched up, and i dont even fill the sink up with water i do the dishes with one of the wand things so i took the dishes off the counter and washed them and somehow it still got scratches. This sink is no where close to what it is worth and if they was somehow to rate this product with 0 stars thats what i would have rated it.1
Terrible Quality - DO NOT BUYSadSinkPurchased as part of an ikea kitchen without reading the reviews and it was a big mistake. Do not purchase this sink. We have been using it for less than one week and it is already scratched and rusting. Huge waste of money.1
If u like scratches buy this sinkthordycentJust bought this sink and Installed undermount with quartz counters. This sink is hot garbage. Not worth the money. It U like scratches this sink is a 5 out of 5. Ikea should focus on selling more hot dogs them selling sinks1
Very Disappointed in QualityAnonymous reviewerI have to agree with everything that has been written and kick myself for not reading beforehand. We finally redid our kitchen. It's been a little over a month now. So far I am happy with cupboards, but this sink is a disaster. It is so scratched and we barely do dishes in it as we have a dishwasher. I love the size of it, but it is in worse shape after a month and a half than my sink of 16 years was. Also, bought the cutting board that goes with the sink. Guess what, it doesn't fit. I asked customer service why doesn't it fit? Asked the counter company (through IKEA) why doesn't it fit, did they cut my counter wrong? Still no one has answered me. So my husband and I went to the store and in the showroom the sink is top mounted. We had our sink under mounted with a quartz counter. Note, the cutting board does not work with an under mounted sink. (Unless you want to buy a router and fix it yourself). This is not noted anywhere, we had to figure it out for ourselves. What we liked about IKEA and why we chose them was the 25 year warranty on cupboards and the one stop shopping. So far I am still dealing with an unresolved issue with my counter and I have a scratched up sink in a brand new kitchen. Beyond disappointed.1
Lacking qualityAnonymous reviewerPurchased this sink a few weeks ago. It was installed Dec 23rd. It is now Dec 31st and it is full of scratches. For the price of the sink I am extremely disappointed in the quality. We even purchased a side basket and do not put any utensils in the sink, so only plates and bowls actually come into contact and it is still scratched up. Definetely do not recommend Ikea for their sinks.1
very unsatisfiedpdavisonly had it installed for a few weeks now, after purchasing it for my total kitchen renovation.. could not believe how easily it scratches,, from just regular dishes etc.. never had that problem with my old 30 year old sink i threw out.. unfortunately i had our quartz countertop cut to fit this sink,, i wish i had read the reviews and i hope review this helps others who are thinking about it.1
It scratch very easilyJeumI got this sink mounted last week, it's already scratched just by putting some dishes and utensils in it. I would not recommend this any one on this sink.1
