Perfect desk for smaller spacesMariusPerfect desk for smaller spaces5
Super unstable deskErin G.2 stars because it's a great size and looks nice, but it wobbles very easily and is very unstable. I will have to reinforce it myself somehow.2
Love how modern and sleekNOELLALove how modern and sleek this is desk is.5
Very nice deskFrancescaWe love our desk. We are actually using it as a console table and it is perfect for its purpose in our home. Great quality too5
Sleek little deskELISEEasy to assemble. Looks great in the small space we had for it.5

Pretty good desk.MohammadPretty good desk.5
nice little deskG D.compact and pretty - legs really needed to be black, which we did, and it looks great4
Perfect size for small cornerNew Homeowner 2This desk is a perfect fit for a little shallow corner in my small living space with white walls. I have placed this desk over a space where the floor transitions from white tiles to tan laminate; it's matching color scheme creates very nice visual flow, and a light, airy feel. It is surprisingly sturdy and holds my 27-inch iMac with no problem. Assembly was a bit tricky, as the metal supports join at specific angles, so you need to orient them correctly. The instructions can be a bit clearer in that regard.5
Exactly as picturedThorupmeSleek, sturdy, beautiful design. The drawers aren’t on tracks and are small but I don’t really need them so that’s fine. It’s high enough that I can cross my legs underneath.5
Nice little desk for elementary school kidsPi AirBought this product for my kid in elementary school. Great size with some storage and actually quite nice to look at. Also surprisingly sturdy and easy to assemble.5
Sturdy deskRoyOfCalgaryI got this for my niece who’s starting university... it’s just the right fit for the space I intend to put the desk5
AdW78My son loves this for his bedroom. Perfect to fit pencils and toy cars into the little drawers5
sleek but impossible to put togetherAnonymous reviewerI bought this because of it’s sleek appearance. The angles required to thread the screws are pretty much impossible.1
RAnderson1Started using this after Christmas. Just love it. Perfect size for my space.5
Decent little deskAnonymous reviewerThis desk was easy to assemble (about 20 min) for a not super handy individual. The drawers are not smooth and make a fair bit of noise when opening and closing. That's the main reason I don't give this desk a very good review. I also feel it's overpriced. I think at $120 rather than $180 it would be a good value. It looks quite nice though and is a good size for a small office.3
Perfect desk for a small spaceLesterBeachGirlI received the LILLASEN Desk today via Fedex Ground. Thanks for a great delivery Fedex. Box looked a little tattered, but inside pack was OK. A few holes etc. in the box. I put it together myself and it went together well, had to read the instructions a few times (I'm dyslexic), I'm a senior female, and I'm so amazed I got it together. Only issue was far left drawer was stuck closed but I opened it with two butter knives, I just won't use it that much it is tight and doesn't slide easily, but I can live with it. This little desk is very sturdy. Seems small, but it is perfect for the space and what I need it for. Measure carefully, to ensure this small desk will give you 'enough' for what you need it for. All in all I'm very pleases with it, and if I could pull that left drawer right out I'd file it down underneath so it would open and close smoothly like the others. Well built, went together easy. Sweet buy, thanks IKEA.5
LILLASEN DESKANAIR KThis is a terrible piece of furniture to have in a store like IKEA. The legs won't be screwed on. If the legs got screwed on, the top doesn't. A complete disaster of a table. Wasted 4 hours of my life trying to screw this on and had nothing but sore, bruised fingers to show for it ! Returned it immediately.1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in a responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Designer thoughts

“A sense of home, more than a sense of office. That was my starting point when I began designing LILLÅSEN desk. The idea is to inspire a creative space anywhere at home, rather than decorating a home office. Angled legs set the design apart from traditional desks and because most of us just need a small laptop to perform our jobs, I also made LILLÅSEN a little bit smaller than a regular desk. Easy to fit in at home – and to feel comfortable at.”
