baking mat, another great ideaFor years I had an old wooden pastry board. It worked well and was used often but clunky to store. One day it was knocked on to the floor and broke into many pieces. A friend of mine had this baking mat from Ikea so I thougt I would try one. It is super handy. Easy to clean up and takes no room to store. The one thing I don't like about it though is that it is "sticky" and all the little dust things floating around in the air end up on the mat.
The baking mat protects the table top and provides a non-stick surface for the pastry. Use the stamp on the end of the knife to put heart-shaped indentations in your cookies and fill them with chocolate or jam. There’s a conversion table on one side of the mat that converts weights and volumes to different measurement units. Make creative decorations on your cakes with the help of the stencils on the mat – one side for children and one for adults. http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/images/products/sockerkaka-baking-mat-and-knife-blue__0119443_PE275753_S4.JPGSOCKERKAKA Baking mat and knife, light bluehttp://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/00175250/001.752.50IKEA$12.99
