I am very happy with this remote control. It looks very smart, is well made and functional using it with the GU10 white spectrum light bulbs. The magnetic mounting plate is a good idea. I would prefer if the rest of the body is a dark grey rather than white.
The principle of directly pairing it with a light bulb is fairly easy. However the back cover has to be removed with a screw driver or coin first and when pressing the pairing button, the other buttons get pressed too; an external pairing button would be better. Although there is an LED indicator light to confirm pairing, it’s a bit ineffective with GU10 light bulbs as it has to be pointed directly at the bulb so it can’t be seen.
Unless you use a hub, be aware that If you switch light bulbs off with a remote control, then at the mains or there’s a power cut, the bulb immediately lights up when the mains are back on. Not a fault with the remote control but common with smart light bulbs and is annoying.

But it works with hue hub if you pair in the following order
a. Reset everything you bought from IKEA
b. Pair the strybar remote to Hue bridge (it will not show up in hue app) via hueessentials touchlink
c. Pair each Tradfri light to dimmer
Now you can find Tradfri bulbs and other devices in hue app for adding as you do with hue bulbs

Unreliable with mind of its ownAnonymous reviewerOverall nice looking product and seems good value at first, but….Once you add a styrbar remote to one room a tradfri remote in another room inexplicably stops responding? The dimmers work fine one day but stop working the next? Some lights disappear from the app, the other decide to ignore the assigned remote? All very frustrating… seemed OK to control one room and but once you add a number of rooms and several components the whole system just goes bonkers. Needs improvement by Ikea
