Step stools & step ladders

Step away from the wobbly chair and onto a step stool instead. Our step ladders can give you a step up in stability. Use them to reach the tippy top of your cabinets, as extra seats whenever you feel like taking a break or as a boost so your little chef can reach the worktop and help out.

What is the difference between a step stool and a step ladder?

Step stools. Step ladders. Aren’t they the same thing? Yes and no. While they both give extra reach when you need it, each one works best in different situations.

While the terms are often used interchangeably, typically a step stool is a shorter stool with one or two steps. Step ladders are taller, and helpful in accomplishing tasks that require more reach. Our range often features primarily step stools in an array of styles and designs.

  • Step stools: Perfect for quick, everyday reaches, like into kitchen cabinets, pantry shelves, top racks and high worktops. And they’re often easy to store.
  • Step ladders: Designed for jobs that take longer and require higher reach, such as changing lightbulbs, cleaning ceiling fixtures, painting and carrying heavy boxes off shelves.

When shopping for step stools and step ladders, consider how much reach you need, the duration of use and sturdiness.
