The open shelves are optimal when using the bench for T.V./cable boxes as there are no doors or drawers to disturb the signal from the remote controls.

The top panel of the TV bench is intended for a TV with a maximum weight of 30 kg.

We recommend a TV bench to be a bit wider than the TV placed on it. This TV bench suits a TV up to 43 inches. You can choose a larger TV if it’s not heavier than the specified max load for the bench’s top.

nice bookcase and stand but bewareAnonymous reviewerThese products combined are easy to build and for the price the finish is clean and simple to fit in most rooms. However, IKEA do NOT have additional shelves for purchase individually (the BESTA shelves that feature in the Recommended on this product are not compatible). IKEA, why do you not have additional shelves? The spaces between the shelves on the bookcase are massive for videogame sized cases and paperback books which is what this was purchased for. Most other ranges offer additional shelving. As a result, although good value, be absolutely sure this is the right product for you as customisation is limited and as a I result I cannot recommend this product as it is.2
Excellent for a small room - well designedAnonymous reviewerWe had so much trouble buying a media unit for our smallish living room. All the TV units are stuck in designs from 20 years ago, with spaces for DVDs and multiple media players. We needed ours to have space for one streaming box, a tv of course - and books and toys, We couldn’t find anything to fit under two meters. We were on the cusp of getting something custom built at vast expense when a search showed this had newly arrived at IKEA. We bought it within 24 hours and it’s newly installed, finally solving the problem of the overflowing book corner, and for an extremely reasonable price. It’s less boxy than Kallax and less bulky than many other media units from IKEA. Some slightly wobbly joints on assembly but it’s solid now it’s up (and filled with books and records). Assembly was very quick and easy.5
