Effective but cheapAnonymous reviewerWhile the overall desired effect was accomplished, it doesn’t alter the fact that the instructions for the door hinges were lacking in detail and clarity. It doesn’t alter the fact that the materials are too easily damaged. It doesn’t alter the fact that there are design flaws in favour of IKEA saving on production costs and in order to maximise profits. The main base unit (120cm width) had a serious, and almost impossible to overcome, 1.5inch hole in the veneer. The hole would have been obvious and easily noticeable if it wasn’t for the fact that I could cover it up, hide it, with the smaller 60cm width adjoining unit. In addition, one of the doors was also damaged and easily noticeable if standing next to the door. I’m invested in this style furniture so there’s no going back but it should be known that if I had other options, I wouldn’t have purchased the BESTA range. Unfortunately, I will need to stick with it and just hope for the best with the next unit I’m forced to purchase.
Gorgeous Anonymous reviewerAbsolutely love this unit. Doors are a bit fiddly to get fully aligned but all in all a simple build. Completely transforms my living room. The only thing id of preferred is maybe the white being a gloss so it was easy clean, I can imagine it will mark easily.
Quite expensive but glad I chose this one as opposed to the smaller version.
Terrible itemAnonymous reviewerI bought this item as it appears as if it is one continuous unit but this is not the case it is actually in two parts that don't fit together particularly well and leave a very visible join down the centre of the unit. Build quality was not satisfactory. As a result i tried to return this item but Ikea would not accept the return for one of the boxes and one of the shelves as they had been opened. I've now lost money on an item that is useless to me.
I would certainly NOT recommend the item and I won't be buying any more furniture from IKEA as their returns policy is rendered useless once you have opened the item.
Doors will not alignAnonymous reviewerI wish I'd read these reviews before I bought it. The doors are at thier maximum setting and overlap with each other still. It's such a very basic issue, I'm really disappointed with ikea, I'd expect better.
I've just spent 2 hrs suspending the unit from the wall using the suspension rails. If I disassemble and take it all back I'm left with 12 holes in the wall......absolute rubbish ikea
Terrible advertising, the product is totally faulty.Anonymous reviewerThe doors do not align. It looks cheap and every door is wonky. Clearly when I came to look at others reviews this is a serious problem for everyone so a completely faulty product that Ikea doesn’t care about fixing. Yes I know Ikea’s customer service response will be their copy and paste ‘180 days returns policy’ but why should I have to then dissemble it all, all boxes gone and then lug it back to IKEA and wait in your horrendously long returns queue. You should not be selling this product if you’ve had this many complaints about the SAME thing.
MediocreAnonymous reviewerOverall I am ok with how this turned out, but it is very fiddly for the hanging version of the cabinets.
As others noted, it is a 2+1 box that needs to be joined. This leaves a very obvious, and ugly, join line between the two. And unless you are super careful with the levels it will look poor when finished. The hanging system is at best, a joke. The hanging rails are connected by two flimsy connectors that cause the rail to flop around all over the place - you will need two people to do this accurately. Why not offer a single long rail instead of connecting 3 singles together?! You also need to flip and realign of the rail when marking holes - why make it complex at this key step? Quality of doors is good, but the veneer on the box part is super thin and I scratched it in a couple of visible places during assembly, no chance I will take it apart again, so I will have to live with it. The boxes are also very light due to the cardboard construction - just feels cheap and poor quality.

It’s not one long top shelf but one is double and one single which is soooo disappointing!!! But when you go the product info it states there that there are two peaces, still it’s such a shame at the joining line for the two shows on the top!!!
Easily assembled but again the wood is hollow except the shelves and doors.
Didn’t return as didn’t want to pay for collection so stack with it.

The worst qualityAnonymous reviewerI bought this sideboard even after reading the bad reviews but I have to say it’s really bad quality and the fact it’s just two units put together just looks terrible. I have bedroom furniture from Ikea in black/brown and it’s a much better finish and quality. I’m so disappointed and I now have to pay £25 to return it don’t waste your money!

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
