It's possible to plant directly in the pot because it has drain holes in the bottom and a saucer to collect excess water.
The porous terracotta holds excess water, so the plant can draw out moisture when needed.
Terracotta is a traditional and proven material that ages beautifully, perfect even for modern outdoor spaces.

Arrived broken twice!!Anonymous reviewerReview of 2x30cm pots with saucers. Disgusted by customer service. Twice they have promised to replace my broken pots/saucers. Apparently pots have been returned to IKEA again. Saucers arrived today, very badly packaged and both broken. I’m fed up with having to phone everyone and spending 20 minutes not to get things sorted. IKEA, this is NOT good enough.

What is terracotta?
