150 pounds lamp and isn"t dimmable??Verified BuyerI can not believe that Ikea sells such a expensive item lamp speaker and did not make it dimmable?? I would like to return it ....1
No BluetoothVerified BuyerIn this day and age, there really need to be a blue tooth connections2
Good sound, useless device howeverJTayThis is a good speaker, decent sound. However it needs to be pretty much sat right on top of your wifi router to get a signal. Keeps cutting out all the time.2
Attractive music and lightCampsie3Attractive and a good price.5

Table lampJck123Thae speaker is Absolutely fantastic quality5
Excellent Quality Sound, Great when paired with TVmayhew132I have these in both of the bedrooms as bedside lamps combined with speakers - they are great in Bedrooms as it means the sound from the TV (using a SONOS Connect) comes out of the bedside speakers, closer to the viewer - which is great for keeping noise down at night. I also have these set up in an Alexa smart group so the Echo Dot in the bedroom defaults to 2 of these lamps set up in a Stereo Pair. The speakers support AirPlay 2 as standard too (if you have an Apple TV you won’t need a SONOS Connect as you can set an AirPlay 2 device as the sound output). Overall - a great design and concept integrated nicely into the ultra-reliable SONOS ecosystem, well done Ikea!5
Love it!JosieASuch a good looking lamp, sounds so good! Worth the wait!5
Great speaker..... shame about the restMark123456789The sound on this speaker is superb. The light is great and the app is pretty simple to download. Everything linked up fine and haven’t had any issues with dropouts yet. However, I can’t link to just a device and play music, which basically means it’s worthless. Everything has to be linked through the Sonos app. I was going use it in my cinema room and link my laptop to it but that’s not possible. You can only link to an Apple Music or Spotify etc and play music. Can’t see the logic in this as it completely limits your options and for £150 that’s pretty poor. You’d expect as a minimum Bluetooth. A real boo boo by Sonos and Ikea on this one. I will be returning as it’s a waste of £150. For £50 I can get a Bose and link anything to it. I just wouldn’t have minded the light as well. Disappointed4
Nice lampBatgirl73We saw this lamp and thought it looked great. The bulb is so bright and has a speaker for a base. The quality if sound is very good. My criticism is that there is no bulb, you have to buy this separately as you do if you want the remote to activate the dimmer on it. I found it ridiculously expensive for what you are getting (£175 for the lamp and the bulb) when essentially you ate just getting a lamp with a speaker that you have to link your wifi and bluetooth to to enable it. It didnt do half of what I thought it would do and the instructions that come with it are not great either. So based on what your getting for your money I would not recommend it to a friend unless it was much much cheaper.4
Crisp & Clear, Bright & PowerfulRSB79Not only is the Symfonisk Table Lamp beautiful, it’s entirely functional too. Super easy to assemble and set up, I was surprised at how much light the lamp gives off - I’d liken it to a daylight simulation lamp. The WiFi speaker has exceptional sound quality. Whether you listen to music, podcasts or TV, the sound is so clear and crisp with no distortion.5
AmazingKarmelik08This speakers are just awesome the Acoustics the base oh my gosh love this i have no regrets at all5
BrilliantAlison 60Excellent sound, easy to use and set up. As it isn't bluetooth, when someone calls you on your phone the music continues to play. The design is lovely and looks great in our living room.5
Great product - And some tipsSean CFirst up, this is a great product for the money - the sound is comparable to the Sonos Play:1 for less money (In the UK at least) and you get a lamp thrown in. Bear in mind it doesn’t have Alexa built in - unlikely to matter if you’re already invested in that ecosystem. Supports all kinds of things but I only use Spotify Connect and Airplay 2 so apologies for missing out anything else it does. You can use Alexa to send music to the speakers - I prefer to use the Sonos or native iPhone apps on my phone. Have one of these in the front room, and 2 set up as a stereo pair in the guest room. Sound is pretty good. If possible would recommend putting them near a wall, or even better, in a corner, as the bass is a bit weak at times, and this seems to help without introducing much boom. In terms of setup, you will need to use the Sonos App, but once the speakers are configured you can happily never touch it again and use Spotify connect or Airplay to send audio to them. The Sonos app is useful if you would like to play different audio in each room using a single controller/phone (An iPhone in my case) but all of them work so at least you have options. Tips: Don’t try and set up more than one speaker at a time - The app is pretty good but if you do this it will get really confused. If you are setting up a stereo pair (so using 2 lamps as left and right speakers) do NOT try and set them up when they are close to each other. I had loads of problems when they were temporarily being set up on a coffee table, one speaker dropping out of the group, delays connecting the audio, causing problems with the 3rd speaker in the house etc.. As soon as I moved them apart by 3-4 metres all the problems went away. Loudness is turned on in the EQ by default. To my ears it makes them sound too bassy - turn it off. If you’re wanting to put a number of these around the house using wireless networking, ensure your Wifi is super reliable in each location you want to put a speaker. Anything less than a good/excellent signal and you will almost certainly run into annoying/intermittent problems.5
Had to return itShfredLooks and sounds great - when it works. The sound kept dropping out and I’d look at my phone - it was still playing. I even bought a router but I could still not get it to work consistently, so I returned it1
Great ideaSwanseaJackBought the lamp today, got it home and set it up, this was fairly easy just downloaded the App as the paperwork says and after about 20 mins i had everything up and running. Bought the recommend light bulb and remote and that works great and changing the light is great to set the mood with the music. Beenplaying music for 6 hours now. Well worth it5
Great ideaKen8Great sounding speaker and nice lamp. Will be buying shelf speakers to expand system around the house. Excellent price too.5
Perfect addition to our Sonos speakersNatNickWas a bit wary that the sound quality wouldn’t be as good for some reason but it’s great and the light gives a lovely ambient glow in our lounge! the only thing that lets this down is the appearance of the light switch5

Our loudest lamp ever

Sound is a mood booster and brings people together, just like light. And both sound and light are outstanding when it comes to creating the right atmosphere. So, what happens when you combine these two forces in one product? To find out, we’ve cooperated with Sonos, specialists in wireless home sound systems.

“We wanted to see what everyday problems we could solve when we brought together our home furnishing knowledge with Sonos’ audio expertise,” says Stjepan Begic, Product Developer at IKEA.

Two in one gives more space

Both light and sound are important elements to create a homey atmosphere. But the problem is that many of us have a lack of space, no matter if we live big or small. And in order to have good sound at home, you often have to use up some of this precious commodity. “So, why not create something that actually gives space back?” says Stjepan. Combining a speaker with an everyday object like a lamp is one way of doing it.

Simplicity is key

With SYMFONISK table lamp you can light up any corner of your home and at the same time play music through your WiFi-system. “It’s one cord, but two functions,” says Stjepan. You can stream the same sound to several speakers – or choose different music for different rooms. SYMFONISK also works together with Sonos speakers and is easy to install, even for those of us that aren’t tech wizards. “Insert a light bulb, plug in the cord and download the Sonos app. Follow the instructions and you’re ready to create good vibes at home,” says Stjepan.
