New bedVerified BuyerWas very wary of buying this as I have only ever had solid wood bed frames before. I'm glad I decided to try it. Really comfortable and very sturdy. I gave 4 stars for assembly as I had to do it on my own. Very happy with my purchase.5
Looks good but not very robustVerified BuyerThe look of the bed is great, my son is pleased with the colour. However, it wasn’t long before the bed became creaky. The screws also don’t hold and come out. The wheels on the drawers have come off, the drawers are rarely used but the screws are so short they just don’t do much.2
Assembly was terrible it doesn’tVerified BuyerAssembly was terrible it doesn’t fit together easily I smashed it up with the hammer in the end and put it in the skip5

Super bedVerified BuyerLove it. Looks smart and is very practical with the underbed storage. The painted grey colour makes it much easier to cooordinate with my room decor.5
Not worth the money1105055231It took one month and one week for it to come was meant to be free delivery and it cost me £39 for free delivery being the main word there1
MisleadingAte19428We didn't check the reviews before purchasing the bed frame and we order it with 2 drawers without knowing that the bed frame won't be totally covered. The pictures are misleading... The only option to have a closed bed frame is to order additional drawers even if we don't want them. If you are looking for only 2 drawers don't purchase this item2
An okay bedanonymous4334I purchased this bed last year and at first I didn’t notice any problems but after some time I have noticed some issues, the mattress does not fit the bed correctly and I did not purchase the wrong size, there is space at the top of the bed and the pillows fall down it and there is also space at the side of the bed, I also have to tighten the bed up regularly because it starts to squeak a lot. I had also paid extra for the lonset slatted base3
Design defect cause noiseOre510Just assembled today, found basic design defect which should happen to IKEA. The frame looks solid, all connections are well designed. However, I had Luroy slate, the wood pieces just sit on three smooth metal beams with insufficient fixing. This cause the wood slates can easily move horizontally and the mattress bounce back to cause slate vertically hit the metal beam to make noise. Also, the middle metal beam unable dead lock into suport plate both end. Even Luroy is basic option, still be able to provide some extra fixing component to fix this problem.3
Awful noisy whenever you movePAPJThis bed arrived this morning, we built it for our teenage daughter but as soon as she sits or lays on it it makes an awful banging and knocking noise, its dreadful and we have no idea what we are supposed to do as it’s been built so how do we return it??? Not happy at all1
Far too squeakyMmastinI actually quite enjoyed the bed for the first few nights; great height, width, length and room for storage. However recently a problem has come about with the bed squeaking when I move, whether I move across the bed or bounce or whatever it will make a medium pitch squeak. I’ve tried drilling screws in harder and tightening the Allen key sections to no avail. It is a big pain when trying to sleep.2
Wasn"t what I was expecting..lxcyBrought this bed back in November and after having made it up I was aware of some squeaking. Thought this was due to it being new but its just getting worse. The price might be cheaper than other places but you can 100% tell why.2
So squeaky!Chey123Myself and my partner have just got our first flat together and thought we would buy ikea furniture as it’s usually good quality for a great price. Unfortunately this bed, although in style and structure is great, it squeaks like crazy! If you move even slightly it will squeak. I’m surprise as the bed itself is quite solid. Please fix this ikea, a squeaky bed isn’t suitable for sleeping on!2
PerfectDeni76I recently purchased this bed for my daughter. She is 17 and built this bed herself, she said it was so easy. Didn't take her very long either. She absolutely loves it. Drawers are perfect for her needs. The bed is absolutely solid, and looks appealing. Thank you IKEA 5*****5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light and resource-efficient, yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
