Poor quality and safety concernsVerified ReviewerBought this in 2020 and it’s noticeably sagging in the middle and the drawers do not close properly due to this. It’s a shame because it’s a lovely looking dresser but the quality is really poor. We contacted IKEA but because this is over their year guarantee, they are unable to help- a real shame considering the item isn’t easily affordable for some and most importantly, this seems like a real safety concern.
Mid-section sags over timeVerified ReviewerI purchased this a few years ago and it has had minimal use as it lives in a guest room. Over time (and with empty drawers) the middle section has dipped causing a bowing of the top as well as causing drawers to catch when opening/closing. There is a foot to adjust height in the middle which I have used but it's clearly not strong enough to support the weight of this chest and has proved useless. Be aware of this when purchasing for everyday use. It looks great but it will sag and become unfit for use.
Be aware of white STAINEDVerified ReviewerHemnes is a great line but when I ordered I was unaware of the type of finished it was. I have the same chest of drawers bought more than 10 years ago and the finished was lacquared. It's a bit disappointing that the same finished is not available anymore as it doesn't totally match the other Hemnes line items like the sofa bed I also got and it is lacquered. Also, one of the drawers came chipped. Not sure how easy this will be to clean. Generally happy but slightly disappointed at the unexpected finished and chip so I wanted to leave this here to avoid other people to experience the same ☺️

Both are considerably poorer than the same set of drawers my wife and I purchased about 7 years ago. Is it the case that these are a modified version of a previous set of draws. I’m not happy at paying so much money for such a poor quality product.

Finish has been changedVerified ReviewerI recently bought the 8 drawer chest to go with furniture we bought a few years back. Unfortunately, the price has gone up and the quality of finish has gone down. It no longer has a satin finish and looks cheap and nasty. It will need painting to try and get it to blend with the existing furniture we have. Very disappointed.
Solid ConstructionVerified ReviewerThe unit itself is solid, took the husband 4 hours to build in total no moaning about things not lining up so all good - the only negative is the paint finish on the top is very thin could do with another paint layer. But overall very happy.
Very disappointingVerified ReviewerThis is our 3rd purchase of this same chest of draws. 1st in 2016 which went together perfectly and 7 years later looks and works as good as new. 2nd in 2020 which also went together perfectly and is working perfectly. Unfortunately I can only presume they are trying to cut costs in manufacturing as just put together the one we purchased a week ago and holes are poorly lined up, draws rub when closed and pieces are to long causing the whole thing to be slightly twisted. We would have returned but had paid for it to be professionally sprayed blue like the 2016 one we purchased, as unfortunately they no longer do a variety of colours. My husband is now having to dismantle and modify several pieces to get it to go together. Very disappointed as the previous two were great as were the two bedside tables from this range we purchased is 2016 and the tall chest if draws from this range purchased in 2017.
Perfect...Verified ReviewerThis is exactly what was wanted & purchased with glass tip for extra protection. Solid set of drawers with thick drawer bases. Took a while to build, my tip is make sure every screw is flush before building - there was one about 1mm out & it prevented a drawer from fitting properly! Sorted with much fiddling. The drawers fit in specific spaces, which one is trial and error... all in all a good set of useful drawers.

Very, very goodVerified ReviewerI was really impressed by the quality, robustness, appearance and finish of this chests of drawers. It feels rock solid. The instructions were slightly difficult to follow in places - you had to be careful you had the right pieces in the right orientation. I was able to put it together entirely on my own. We are really pleased with it. We like the various different sized drawers, and it looks amazing in the room.

Now I'm left with a very expensive piece of wood in my bedroom and I just don't know what to do with it. Never had any problems with IKEA in the past so I am very disappointed with this to the point where I just want to cry.
Poor alignment and quality controlVerified ReviewerBought two sets for our bedroom, at least half the drawers have trouble closing. Drawers sit a couple of millimetres too high and therefore don’t close without force. There is little tolerance in the design for manufacturing inaccuracies so it is a noticeable and frustrating defect. Over time given the fitment, the paint on the top edge of the drawer will wear away.
Given the price I would avoid as there is no ability to adjust drawer face. Really disappointing as normally Ikea products fit together well.
